The next thing I know, I am being carried by strong arms from the car quickly to get out of the rain and look up to see Matt. I smile a bit and lean into him more instead of fighting to be put down like I normally would. I sigh and he heads up the stairs to lay me down on his soft bed and I watch him pull the flip-flops off my feet covering me with the blankets. I look up at him and bite my lip gently taking his hand.

"Go back to sleep, beautiful. I won't wake you for a while." Matt whispers and kisses my head looking at me in the dark room before he stands again.

I quickly grab his arm and look at him pulling him back a bit as I whisper, "Stay."

"You want me to?" He asks gently and takes my hand gently.

"You make me feel safe..." I answer softly and make out his nod frowning when his hand leaves mine. I hear the thud of shoes being removed and the rustle of clothes then feel the bed dip a bit on the other side.

"I'm right here." He whispers close to me and I feel his fingers graze my face when he removes my glasses from my face reaching over me to put them on the nightstand near my head. "Now go to sleep."

My eyes have already slipped closed and I feel his larger hand gently take mine under the blankets rubbing my fingers as I fall asleep again.

Next time Matt wakes me, it is the early morning and I groan softly at the intrusion of my peaceful sleep and how my body is aching in various places. I hear him chuckle and I open my eyes to the dim light of the morning to glare at him halfheartedly earning another laugh from him. I sigh and wince at the pain in my side moving my hand to cover it. I frown at the pain in my shoulder too and look up at the ceiling with a groan.

"I knew you'd be hurting so I brought you some medicine." Matt says quietly and I see the glass of water in his hand. "Will you let me help you sit up? Your ribs will kill you if you move too fast."

I nod and he puts the glass on the nightstand with the orange pills gently sliding his arm under my shoulders. I grip his upper arm as I sit up slowly and whimper as my ribs protest at my movement biting my lip to keep from crying. I lean into his shoulder for a moment and his arm stays around my back gently rubbing it. I feel his other hand by my thigh on the bed and pull back to look at him meekly knowing I look even worse than I feel.

"Take your time, Tori..." He looks at me and puts his pillow behind me helping me shift back a bit to sit against the headboard.

"Thank you, Matt for everything." I rasp out softly and look at him reaching for my glasses but his hand beats me.

"Here." He says and slides them on my face smiling a bit.

"What?" I ask and take the medicine, which he hands me next swallowing a few gulps of water.

"Nothing, you're just cute when you wake up." He chuckles and takes the glass from me watching me.

"Oh I'm sure my black and blue face is adorable." I snort a laugh and groan at the pain in my side holding it a bit. "Make that black and blue body."

"It will heal in time." He nods and gets up from the bed walking to put the glass on the counter in the bathroom.

I suddenly realize he is only dressed in boxers and a plain t-shirt making me think about us sleeping together last week. "Do you usually sleep like that?"

"Normally it's without the shirt but I didn't want to make you uncomfortable." He answers as he comes back in the room and pushes a hand through his already messy dark hair making me want to do the same thing.
