Two
I wake in the morning with a slight headache and bring my hand up to rub my face stretching my legs to feel someone beside me. My eyes open quickly and see that I am in unfamiliar bedroom turning to see that I am lying next to Matt. I suddenly remember that we ended up very drunk last night and in a heat of passion came here to finish the night. I bite my lip and sit up glancing around the large bedroom to see it is only 8:35am careful not to wake Matt as I get up. I slip on my underwear from the night before and Matt’s shirt as well as I grab my purse quietly going into the bathroom.
I smile softly to myself as I look around and see that the room is very neat and tidy. I bit my lip liking how different Matt seems to be from the various men I have dated in the past. He seems intelligent, kind, careful, organized, and very sexy in so many ways. I find a clean toothbrush in one of the drawers and brush my teeth quickly running my fingers through my messy hair. I take my contacts out and grab my glasses that I keep in my purse in case of emergencies such as this one. I sigh softly and shake my head wondering why I am not running out of here as I normally would. I lean on the counter unsure of my feelings toward Matt and cannot believe that I want to stay around so I can figure them out.
I step out when I hear Matt stretching in the bed and lean on the door. “You know most girls wouldn’t like to wake up in some strange guy’s bed…”
“Calling me strange again?” He grins and looks over at me sitting up to show off his muscular chest. “You look good in glasses.”
“Thanks.” I bite my lip and push the frames up my nose a bit looking down embarrassed. “I’ve always wanted to get the Lasik surgery though. Glasses can be a bit of a nuisance.”
“I can understand that but you look really cute in them.” He nods and motions for me to come over to the bed. I come over and sit down near him noticing he is staring at me.
“What? Is there something on my face?” I ask self-conscious that I forgot to get something off my face and look stupid.
“No, you look beautiful…” Matt smiles and gently touches my cheek with his thumb looking at me. “I was just wondering why you didn’t just leave when you woke up? Most girls do.”
“Oh well, I don’t know…” I bite my lip and look at him meeting his blue eyes on my green ones. “I-I guess I like you…something tells me we could be good together.”
“Well, I am glad that you stayed.” He smiles and leans closer to kiss me softly cupping my cheek in his large hand. I smile against his lips and shift a bit closer to him resting my hand on his arm as the kiss deepens slightly. He groans softly when his phone rings and pulls away to give me an apologetic look. “Sorry, I have an always answer if I can policy.”
“That’s a nice policy. Do you mind if I go explore and make some coffee?” I look at him as he grabs his phone and get up off the bed.
“No, go ahead. Hello?” He smiles at me and I quickly go out of the bedroom to give him his privacy going down the stairs to the main level of the row house.
I get to the bottom of the steps and bite my lip looking to both my left then right seeing a living area and a kitchen. Both simple but has a flare of a man with the colors and collections of random video games.
They never change. I think and smile softly going into the kitchen to find a mug after opening a few cabinets quietly. I put in a K-cup that I know I like in the Kureg coffee maker and lean on the counter as I look around spotting a sheet of paper under some keys on the island. I turn to grab my coffee when it beeps and step towards the paper picking it up to read it. I gasp and take a step back seeing that it is a marriage certificate with Matt’s name on one line and my name on the next.
