You sit on the edge of your motel bed, a small box clasped tightly in your hands. Inside, a small picture of yourself sat among other ritualistic items. The items you were about to bury in the middle of a crossroad on the outskirts of town. But you had to do this.

~ Flashback ~

About a month ago, you, Sam and Dean had gone on a hunt. You and Dean had been dating for a few months and he almost never let you come on demon hunts. You stubbornly told him you were coming this time, however. Dean wasn't happy, but he grudgingly let you come.

Arriving at the suspected abandoned warehouse, there was nobody there. That's when the demon leaped from the shadows, getting the jump on Dean. The demon swiftly stabbed him in the chest, sprinting off into the shadows after. While Sam followed it, you had tried to save Dean. But he was already too far gone.

"Don't do anything stupid, okay Y/N?" he had asked, holding on to your arm tightly despite his quickly draining energy. Tears had slipped down your checks and onto his open wound.

"Dean, shut the hell up," you say sternly. "You're not dying. Not like this," you choked out the last part. But Dean just looked at you, the trademark smirk on his face.

"Take care of Sammy for me," he murmured, looking you in the eyes. You press your hands onto his chest, but blood just slips trough your fingers.

"I love you, Y/N," was the last thing he said before his head fell back and his eyes held a dead expression. You chocked out a sob as you cried into his chest.

"I love you too, Dean," you murmur. He'll wake up, right? This is just some sick joke. He'll wake up any minute and laugh because you're such a gullible person. But you realized he wasn't. You let out a scream of pain as your heart is ripped apart. That's when Sam returns and you both sit silently and cry.

You don't know when you started driving. You just know that tears were once again present as you drove to the outskirts of town. Dean wouldn't want you to do this. But you couldn't stand to be without him, and you couldn't stand how Sam had become so distant. You had to.

You pulled over and stepped out of your car, grasping the box in your hands. You dug a small hole in the middle of the crossroad and buried the box inside. In a couple of moments, an attractive young woman had appeared near you.

"Let me guess. You want your Winchester boy back?" she asked, her smirk flashing in the moonlight. You swallow the lump in your throat and nod. She rolls her eyes, stepping closer to you.

"I can bring him back. But!" she exclaimed, holding up a finger. "I can only give you a year," she finishes, placing her finger on your shoulder. You let out a breath you hadn't realized you were holding.

"Fine. Just bring Dean back," you snap. The demon smiles, and pulls you in for a kiss. You kiss her awkwardly for a couple of seconds before she laughs and disappears. You let out a shaky breath as you heard the crunch of feet on gravel from behind you.

"Y/N?" asks the voice you haven't heard for a month. You spin around. There he is. Your Dean. Alive, once again. And it only costed you your soul.

You run up and hug him tightly. He doesn't hug you back right away, confused.

"Y/N, where are we?" he asks, looking at his surroundings. He slowly realizes where he is and what you must have done.

"You didn't," he almost whispers. You look at your feet. Dean shakes his head and pulled you into another hug, gripping you tight this time.

"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry," you sobbed into his chest. Dean just held on, like if he let go the wind would blow you away.

"How long did they give you?" he asks, still never letting go.

"Only a year," you reply quietly. Dean simply nods his head and holds you close.

"We'll get you out of this, Y/N. I promise."
