when you believed in one thing but...
I knew who they all were. I never met them, but I knew that they were my teammates. I could also guess why they had the mildly startled look on their face - Looks like they had their dose of the weird looking alien skeleton. All their curious eyes scanned me from the top to bottom. I slightly crossed my arms which looked a bit like I was covering myself and I indeed was - Well, it was a product of a lifetime of insecurities and it felt a bit uncomfortable to be eyed by four people at a time. the previous day's high confidence seemed to crash for some reason. After all, it was a long time since I was forced to blend in with strangers.
There were two girls, one with red hair and another with dark brown, almost black hair. The red haired girl was a bit slender and had a medium height with really clear skin that almost seemed perfect. Her chocolate brown eyes looked very pretty and went well with her plump lips and fair complexion. The dark haired girl was a bit taller than the red head and looked really beautiful. Her hair was perfectly smooth and had long curls. She was skinny and had small thin lips which were very beautiful. She had a tan skin colour and slender eyes which were dark brown. Right next to the two girls sat a guy who had light brown hair. He had a pretty angular jaw and generic eyes which were ice blue in colour. His skin tone was pale and had straight lips which were surprisingly pink.
And then, to the corner sat a guy who did not eye me as much as the others. He was staring down which made it difficult to see his face. All I could see was his magnificent medium length blonde hair mixed with a hint of light brown flow down to his neck.
These beautiful people in the room made me confused weather I signed the papers for a NASA project or a modeling contract even though I did not match to their level of beauty. Before I went too deep in my thoughts, Kelly cut the awkward silence.
"This is Claire LeBlanc, your fellow teammate!" What was I supposed to do? I didn't even enter the room properly so I just smiled and waved my hand at them. The three of them didn't smile like I did but their lips curved into a small smile as they waved back at me. Well, only three of them waved while the blonde one just looked at me and slightly nodded his head in a way to say hello and ignored me as he took out his phone and did who knows what. In the short moment when he lifted his head, I could see his beautiful features. He had beautiful brown eyes, thick dark brown brows and perfect lips and his jawline was magnificent! He was like the incarnation of beauty. I was slightly mad at him. Like, a small smile wouldn't hurt anyone.
Kelly just touched my shoulder and moved forward motioning me to come inside. I followed her and she told me to take my seat which was obviously next to the blonde ignorant dude. This whole thing was giving me major Twilight vibes. It felt like the part where Bella had no choice but to sit next to the mysterious and alluring Edward Cullen who was the odd one out of the whole school because of his heartbreaking beauty and other factors. Little did Bella know they were going to marry each other! But seriously, that couldn't be the case here. No way! I immediately suppressed the thought if the same thing was happening here just like Twilight. I would kill myself if I'd ever think that and I knew that there was no way the same thing could happen. And I was true. Little did I know that my journey from there onwards would be one terrifying roller coaster with no escape!
Authors Note(even though I'm bad at author's notes) : Hello everybody!! This is my first author's note and since three fourth of the book is mainly filled with stuff that don't involve any emotions of that great, here it is, Claire meeting her new team mates! What are the names of these new people? What are they like? And who is this rude blonde dude who seems to be the cliche guy of literally every chick flick ever (even though it's not a chick flick that I'm writing and he's not that cliche)? Don't make your mind up yet guys, keep guessing if this blonde dude and Claire would fall for each other! I'm not telling you and they may or may not and that's for you to find out! UGHHH. Now enough of the lovey dovey cheesy stuff (I'm already so cheesed out (if that's even a thing) writing this author note! )Coming to the main sci fi part of the story, things are about to get WILD! stay tuned to find out!
