"Now, that's Anne Lee Davis," Kelly pointed towards the flaming red haired girl. I tilted my head a bit to look at her and she did the same as we exchanged a forceful smile with each other. "That's Ellis May Jones and Sam Miller," she pointed towards the raven haired girl and the milk chocolate brown haired guy sitting right next to her.
Finally, she pointed towards the beautiful blonde one and said "That's Dominic James Smith. and then, there is you who obviously is Claire LeBlanc," she said giving me an encouraging glance, "You all will have to stick with each other till our project is done and it might take years." I could see from the corner of my eye that the blonde one. What's his name? Ah! Dominic looked a bit haunted by the idea of sticking with each other for years! He let out a sigh of disgust in a way that the others couldn't see.
He looked beautiful. I studied his features as he looked front at Kelly. He had a beautiful and unique complexion. He was looking straight in front of him at Kelly with his brown eyes while his face changed several expressions - as if he was conflicting between two emotions.
Then, came the moment of impact as I realised that I missed a part of what Kelly explained.
OH NO!
I'm going to have to ask one of my teammates.
Which one? Everybody looked so unapproachable.
I think I'm going to ask the Anne girl. She seemed to be a bit kinder than the rest.
Keyword: a bit. The more wiser part of me ordered me to stop thinking and concentrate on what Kelly had to say.
"We will meet doctor Findler, doctor Sean and doctor Cassandra once it's eight," They seemed like the other people who'd help us. "Our coffee lounge is right below just as I said." She beckoned us out. Everyone got up on their own fluidly and I was the last one to unwillingly get up. I looked like I didn't know a single thing what was going on, which was true. I followed them all as they exited the room and walked down the short staircase. They all moved towards the corner and we entered the section of the building which looked like a mini Starbucks cafe. There were few tables with four chairs each and I followed them to the one in the centre. They took their seats and I again, was the last one to take my seat unwillingly. The woman dressed in a white and casual uniform who looked like the waitress placed four mugs in front of us along with four menus. The waitress left as glanced at the menu. I searched for cold brew because I wanted nothing more than that at the moment. She came back in a minute and asked the others to order first and again, I was the last. Ellis and Anne ordered a pumpkin spiced latte while Sam ordered a plain black coffee and Dominic asked for water. It sounded funny.
So this was what Kelly said? To sit in NASA's Starbucks? I didn't want the cold brew anymore. I told the waitress not to get anything and stared at my phone, going through the notifications. If no one cared, I couldn't care less. I did not bother to give a shit.
"Hey Sam! it's been quite long. How have you been?" Anne asked.
Holy mother of Evil! They knew each other? This is going to get awkward.
So, I was the only one who was new. My insecurities were on their peaks but I did not care. Or at least I pretended not to.
"I have been doing great! I hope the same goes for you Anne. Does it?"
"Yes! I've been taking a break and now I'm back to work."
"Wow! I guess I could say the same for myself."
I did not look at them as they tried to make small talk.
"Wait, you both know each other? That's nice!" Said Ellis. So Ellis also did not know them as well.
"I'm Anne! And that is Sam . . . short for Samuel."
Ellis flashed a more real smile and the most shocking thing happened! They shook their hands with each other!
WOW!
Maybe they weren't as bad as I thought they were. It obviously came with an exception. Dominic did not seem to approachable at all and I did not take the chance to introduce myself to them. I kept looking at my phone. I wanted to text my friend but right then, my phone started ringing like a banshee. All the four eyes were at me. I was getting a call from Kelly!
Why me?
"Oh, hey Kelly! You called for?"
"Quick! Come back to our meeting room! People here await you!"
