Finally! They closed the store, so I can get out of this filthy bathroom now.
I open the door and peek outside, just to make sure no one is here. I don't seen anyone, so I walk out of the bathroom. I go into the actual store place, where they sell things, and munch on my bread. I already finished my drink, which made me hyper for some reason, and now I can't go to sleep. I browse the DVDs and the TVs, looking for something I might be able to steal. I come across the music section, just to see what kind of music is in style now.
I take a look at the pop section, and see a lot of unfamiliar names. Taylor Swift, Five Seconds of Summer, Nick Jonas, and One Direction. I think I've heard of One Direction before. I grad the CD which is labeled Four, and head towards the section where they keep the boom boxes. I wouldn't really mind listening to some music right now, anyways.
I find the boom boxes, and I take out the shiny CD and insert it to a black boom box. I turn the volume half way up, and press play.
Soothing lyrics and melodies flow into my ear, and I tap my foot to the beat.
The chorus was amazing. No, I couldn't really relate to a guy who's girl was being taken by another guy, but the music was still comforting. I listen to the rest of the song, then I shut the boom box down, and I place the CD back into its rightful place.
I go and walk over to where they keep all of the phones, and I grab one. It's connected to the counter for security reasons, but I'm still able to turn it on. Luckily, I have an internet connection. I go into the app that says Safari and I click on the Google symbol. I type, 'One Direction' into the search bar and see what comes up. The first thing that comes up is the news.
'One Direction's latest tour in two weeks!'
'Where is Liam Payne on social media?'
'Harry lets his luscious locks grow wild!'
And, 'One Direction tour could be the greatest tour yet!'
Wow. I've never been to a concert. My dad wouldn't let me go. He never let me leave the house without him. He'd fear that I would run away. He couldn't let that happen... he wouldn't want his precious beer slave to run away. I'm glad I probably never have to see his face again.
I get my pliers out of my backpack and snap the cord holding the iPhone to the counter. After I snap it, I expect alarms to go off, but they never do. I guess their security isn't really up to par anymore.
I stash the phone in my backpack and go over to where they sell small snacks. I'm most definitely not leaving empty handed. I don't want to have to come back here. I need to go find some place where I can be happy. And this city definitely isn't it.
It does sound crazy, I know, but I have to do this. If I don't do this now, I will never get out of Detroit. I don't want to spend the rest of my life here... that's for sure.
At the snack counter, I grab all of the candy bars, and some gummy worms. I grab some chips, and some energy bars. I also snatch four large sodas and stash them in my pack. My backpack is probably too heavy for my small frame, but I don't care.
I know I shouldn't leave the store now, I could set off alarms. So I retreat back to the bathroom, where I'll rest for the rest of the night.
