Chapter Five: Once In A Lifetime

I can't believe it's already time for the show! Those two hours past really quickly. "Alright, now, we are about to go on! You need to stay backstage, okay?"
"Yeah, okay. I understand. Thank you for letting me stay, Harry." I say.
"No problem! I couldn't just let a 13 year old back out on the streets! Especially not one as amazing as you!" Harry smiles.

I hug him, and all the other boys tightly, before they disappear, onto the massive stage. I do as told, and stay in the backstage area. I listen to the first song, Ready to Run. I already know most of their songs. I guess you could say I'm a real big fan.

The next song is one of my favorites. Fool's Gold. It explains me so well. I've fallen for tons of people. Letting them into my life. But I promised not to make that mistake again. That's why I can't let Harry, Louis, Niall, Liam, and Zayn into my life completely.
They can't know about me. They can't know about-

"And welcome to the stage! Our new friend, Leann!" I hear Harry's voice booming from the stage, interrupting me from my thoughts. What? I can't go on stage! I start to panic.

Then, two bulky guys in uniforms 'help' me up, and push me onto the stage.

I'm way too shy for this. I walk over to Harry, and I stay very close to him.

I look into the crowd and see hundreds, no thousands, of confused eyes staring at me.
"I think, that it would be a great idea, for Leann to stay with us on tour for a while! Wouldn't that be great?" Harry asks the crowd. I'm scared of the answers we might get.

Some people yell things like, "Yeah! Go Leann!"
Others say things like, "Stay away from my husbands!"

It's impossible to hear what everyone says, but some is positive and some is negative.
"Alright! You guys are a great crowd! We'll see you next time!" Zayn yells, and we all exit the stage, and go to the backstage waiting area.

"Why did you do that?" I say, still very nervous. "Well, we want to keep you with us, and they had to find out sooner or later." Louis says. I just nod my head.

"Thank you. For taking me with you." I say, smiling. "Your welcome!" They all say at once.

"Ok, before we can go back to our hotel, we have some fans who have backstage passes to meet us! It will only take about an hour!" Zayn says. "Okay, I would like to meet some other fans!" I say, excited. "That's great, I think they are already lined up! The guards will let someone in soon." Harry says. Soon enough, someone comes through.

It's a girl. She has blonde hair that is cut short, and piercing blue-green eyes.

"Oh. My. Gosh! I can't believe I get to meet you guys! You're amazing!" She says.

"Jenna, name. Is Jenna!" She says. Wow, she's really nervous.

"Hey! It's really nice to meet you!" Harry says, giving her hug. "I love your shoes, Jenna!" Louis says.

Jenna smiles. "Can you guys sign this?" She asks, holding out a poster with the boy's faces on it. "Of course!" Niall says, accepting the poster, and sharpie. "Who are you?" She asks, me. "Um, I'm Leann. I am just staying with them for a while." I say. I hope she isn't one of the girls who would be mad at me.

"Wow! Cool! Can you sign it too?" Jenna asks, showing off a pair of puppy dog eyes.
"Of course, if you want!" I say.

Liam hands me the poster, and I sign Leann onto a corner of it. "It was nice meeting you!" I say, as she walks out of the large double doors.

"See! I told you they would love you!" Harry says, squeezing my hand. "That wasn't as bad as I thought it would be." I say, blushing.

They all smile at me. We don't have time to say anything else, before another person walks through the door. This time it's a boy. He has short cut brown hair, and a shirt that says, 'Proud To Be Gay!' I guess he's gay. Fine by me though.

"Hey! What's up? My names Joey!" He says, handing out hugs. "Nice to meet you, Joey!" Liam says. "Oh, my gosh! It's Leann! Girl, let me tell you something! You are gorgeous! Here's my number, call me anytime! I really live in London, I just traveled here!" He says, then he hands me a sticky note with his number on it.

"Thanks! I will definitely call!" I say. We all sign his shirt, and then he leaves.

"I think I just found my first friend." I say, smiling. "That's great!" Louis says, and they all smile.

The rest of the signing was pretty much all the same. Mostly girls, and most of them were okay, and not total jerks.

"Alright, that was a long day!" Liam says, stretching his arms. "Yup!" I say, yawning.

"Let's head to the hotel!" Louis says. We all nod in agreement and head outside, where the limo is waiting. Apparently, they don't use the tour bus now. We just stay in a hotel because we will be in Australia for a while. We also have a meeting with management in a while, that should be fun. Can't you just feel the sarcasm?

When we all pile into the limo, Liam, and Zayn fall asleep instantly. Harry sits next to me, with Niall on my other side. My stomach awkwardly growls. "When is the last time you've eaten?" Harry asks. "I don't know. Yesterday, I think." I reply, holding my stomach.

"Here, have this!" Niall says, dropping a protein bar into my lap. "Thanks!" I say, opening the honey flavored cereal bar. That boy must always have food with him.

By the time I finish the snack, we are at the hotel. It is really beautiful! Wow, I've never seen such a huge building before.

We wake Liam and Zayn up, and then we walk into the hotel. We already have our room keys, so we take the elevator to the 10th floor of the building. It's a good thing I'm not afraid of heights. Once we reach out joint rooms, we go inside. The rooms are amazing. "Wow." I whisper. "Nice room, right?" Niall says, looking through the fridge.

"Yeah." I says my jaw wide open. "Well, me and Zayn will split the room with two beds." Liam says, as he and Zayn walk over to the joint room. "Pick call the sofa bed!" Niall yells, already converting the sofa into a couch. "I call the sofa bed in Liam's room!" Louis yells.

"You ok with sleeping in the last bed with me?" Harry asks. "Sure, your like my brother, so it's okay." I smile.

Since it's already past 11pm, we all climb into our different beds and quickly fall asleep.

My last thoughts are of my new temporary family. I can't fall in love with this too much. I have to keep reminding myself, this is only temporary.
