We stood there for a good hour talking about anything and everything, just watching the stars as they lit up, and the city turned off, gradually getting darker as every building turned off its lights for the night.

"Attention, we will be closing for the night, so please make your way to the nearest elevator, and don't forget to stop by the gift shop before you leave!" A cheery voice chirps over the intercom. Which is weird, because I have absolutely no idea where the intercom is.

I'm actually really upset that it's time to leave, I was having such a fun time with Luke. It's so easy to be comfortable around him. He's really awkward, too, so I never have to feel embarrassed, like when I fell over a billion times on the way over here.

He's just kind of.... adorable, really. And for some reason, I can't get enough of him.

He grabs my hand, and I get that tingly feeling again as we slowly make our way over to the elevator, which of course, has just filled up. And we're the only ones left up here. Great.

We stand there for a about 20 minutes, not talking, just enjoying each other's presence, before he finally says something.

"Don't you think it should of been back by now? I mean, I know it's long way down, and then back up, but, seriously. It's been like half an hour almost."

"I know... you don't think they, like, forgot about us.. do you?"

He gives me a worried look. "I'm sure it will be up soon," he reassures me.

40 minutes later and still no sign of an elevator.

By now, we're sitting criss cross applesauce on the cold floor, playing a game with my hair ties that were on my wrist. It was just something I made up on the spot, but it's actually kind of fun.

"Your turn," I mumble dejectedly, because he's winning. My game.

He sighs, before standing up, then pulling me up with him. "This is fun and all, but I really want to go home now, it's getting so late."

"Yeah, and I'm freezing." I shiver.

"I'd give you my jacket like a gentleman, except it's summer, and I don't carry jackets with me in the summer." He chuckles.

"Maybe if I push a button it will open." I say, ignoring his last comment, because there's nothing I hate more than gentlemen. I hate cliché guys, who take you out to dinner and then when it rains, lay their jacket over the puddle, so your feet won't get wet.

I walk over to the elevator and repeatedly push the button.

"You know," he walks up behind me, "pushing it over and over again isn't going to make it go faster."

I turn around and glare at him. "You sound like my mom."

We wait a little while longer, and still no sign of an elevator.

He lays down on the ground behind me, and stares up at the beautiful night sky, filled with all of the bright stars. "Let's name them."

"I don't know anything about constellations," I sigh, plopping down on my back next to him.

"No, I mean, let's make up our own names." He smirks from beside me.

"Okay... isn't that like, the North Star?" I ask, pointing up at the brightest star in the sky, directly above us.

"I have no idea," He laughs.

"What are we supposed to name them, anyways?"

He groans. "It was just an idea, do you have a better one?" He raises his eyebrows.

"No," I grin. "All right, how about that one?" I point up at the one right next to the one I just pointed out as the North Star. It's probably the second brightest star in the sky. It really is beautiful.

"How about Luke? I think I deserve to have the second coolest star in the sky named after me."

"Hmmm... yeah, I don't think so." I laugh.

He smirks at me, then points at another one.

"I call that one Bri," he says, not even glancing over at me, keeping his eye on the star the entire time he speaks.

I raise an eyebrow at him.

"It may not look like much, but boy does it shine."

I have to roll over on my other side, facing away from him, and bury my face in my arms so he can't see my blush.

There go those darn butterflies again.

He then turns toward me. "What's wrong?"

"Maybe we should just go to sleep." I mumble, afraid that if I stay up with him I'll end up falling for him and all the little things he does that make my heart beat a million times faster.

"Oh." He sounds disappointed, and I immediately regret suggesting that.

I roll back over, but don't dare look him in the eyes, not realizing how close he was to me.

I feel his hot breath fanning over my face, and I squeeze my eyes shut, before scooting away from him slowly, and sitting up, opening my eyes once it's safe again.

Safe from those baby blue eyes.

And that smile.

And those dimples.

No, Bri, you can't think of him like this. He's just a friend.

I sigh, and gather up the courage to look at his face again. "I mean, we could stay up a little longer if you want..."

"No, if you want to sleep you can sleep. Seriously, it's fine. I'm actually really tired, too." He gives me a small smile.

"Okay." I slowly lie back down.

"I'm still cold," I whisper, turning toward Luke so that we're facing each other.

"C'mere." He whispers back, motioning with his arm so I'll move closer to him.

I hesitate, but, realizing I have no other option, move into his arms, my face buried in his chest, his arms wrapped around my waist.

It just feels so right.

"Goodnight," he whispers, kissing the top of my head.

"Goodnight."
