*Clary's P.O.V

Today was Chris's first birthday. It's hard to believe that my little angel is already a year old. I guess time really does fly. While Jace and Izzy are getting everything ready downstairs, I took the task of getting Chris ready for his party. I walked into his room and saw him standing up in his crib.
"Well, good morning to you too!" I laughed and picked him up.
"Happy birthday, to you." I sang as I got out his clothes.
"You ready for your huge party, little man?" He smiled his toothless grin and grabbed a lock of my hair.
"What are you doing, silly?" He just babbled on and kept playing with my hair like it was the most interesting thing in the world.
"Alright, think you'll pass Aunt Izzy's inspection?" I said as I picked him up and carried him downstairs.
"You ready yet?" I hollered
"Yeah! Where's the birthday boy?" Jace asked.
"Right here!" I handed Chris over to him and got the cake out of the fridge.
Then, I hear Chris say "d-dada" and couldn't help but turn around.
The look on Jace's face was priceless. If only I had a camera.
"Clary, did you hear that?" He grinned
"I heard. Chris can you say mama?" I walked over and kissed his cheek.
He thought about it for a minute before he said "m-mama?"
"Good job, Chris!" I blew on his belly causing him to laugh.
Just then, Isabelle and Alec came in and then the party started. Jace sat down at the table with Chris in his lap. All four of us sang happy birthday and he blew out the candles. When I was cutting the cake, Chris shoved his hand into it and pulled out a fistful of cake, which he then stuffed into his mouth.
"He is definitely my son!" Jace laughed.

That night, Chris was sitting in the living room playing with the toys he got for his birthday.
"Chris, are you ready for bed?" I asked.
He looked at me and said "No!"
"Why not?" Jace smiled
"Not tired," he yawned.
"Okay, come on buddy," Jace scooped him up in his arms and took him to bed. When he came back, he pulled me into his lap and kissed my hair.
"I love you,"
"I love you, too"
"You think we did okay?" He asked quietly
"With what?"
"With Chris. Like raising him and everything." He mumbled.
"Yeah, why?"
"Just curious."
"What are you up to?" I asked
"Nothing. I was just thinking about what it would be like if we had another baby,"
"Oh. I'd like that. But maybe we should wait until Chris is older." I told him.
"Okay," he smiled and carried me to bed. I passed out as soon as my head hit the pillows.
