"Are you sure it is a good idea?" I asked as Charlie parked in front my parent's house. "You're not gonna let them leave with that in their mind, are you?" He began "What if anything happens and that it ends on that note..." he added and I looked at him with big eyes.

"Don't look at me that way! That's just how I think!" He defended and I looked down "No, you're right" I said, unfastening my belt and opening the door of the car.

"Take all your time, don't worry about me" he said and I smiled slightly to him before closing the door.

I walked to the front door and knocked. I could feel myself getting more nervous.

The door opened, letting Monika appear behind it. She smiled to me, obviously she knew nothing, and greet me.

I got inside and walked to the their bedroom as Monika told my parents were there. The door was half open so I knocked and stood at the little opening so that my parents could see me.

"Hi" I said, softly. My mum turned around, her toilet bag in hands, and she eyed me from bottom to top. "What are you doing here?" She asked, continuing to pack her suitcase.

There were clothes all over the bed and two suitcases were on the ground. My dad then showed up, coming from their closet.

"Romina" he said, surprised to see me there. "Well, I'm not here to fight with anybody, I just came to say sorry" I said, making things clear from the start.

My dad frowned "Fight? Why would fight with anybody?" He asked "I did tell him" my mother said to me and I gasped "Oh" I said.

"Then I'm gonna tell him" I then added and she looked at me surprised "Tell me what?" My dad asked, losing his patience.

"I am seeing Charlie again"

His eyes opened wide while his eyebrows frowned. He then chuckled "You're kidding, right?" He said, probably not believing what I had just said « No, Jacob she is not » my mother said.

He looked at me, processing the news and then his face totally changed. Sure, he was disappointed but he seemed to be more than that.

He seemed... scared.

« You know how much trouble that boy caused you » he said and I nodded « I know and I know how bad he made me feel but I found a way to forgive him since I discovered Kendall played a big role in that story » I said and my father frowned.

« Kendall? » my mother asked « Yes, but that's not the point. I'm not here to throw the blame on anybody. I know that I shouldn't be apologising for choosing to forgive him because this is my choice but, I'm sorry for lying to all of you about my break up with Mason and I'm sorry for hiding it from you »

« It's just that I was scared of your reaction and a part of me was still not believing what was happening. Everything just went so fast and I was acting without thinking and it made me make lots of mistakes but meanwhile, Charlie and I connected again » I said

« But not connected the way you think, just friends » I corrected as I realised how that word sounded.

My mother sighed « Maybe I over reacted » she said « I was scared that you might break down again. I didn't want to see you suffer again and I still don't want you to suffer » she explained « I feel like that boy is toxic » my father said, joining the chat.

« I used to like him but not you two together. He is talented and smart but he is not good for you » he added. I looked down « So, I think that I could bear the fact that you two are friends but not more than that » he explained.
