the sound of waves crashing against the shoreline echoed through kianna's apartment. the brunette lit her third blunt of the day, leaning her head against the wall by the nearest window as the smoke filled her lungs. she let the lyrics from #icanteven by the neighbourhood and the drug occupy her mind. kianna hadn't always picked up bad habits while trying to cope with unwanted feelings, but for the past few years she decided against what was normal for her.

the very first bad habit she tried picking up on just left her feeling much worse and didn't really occupy her thoughts for as long as she wanted. that's where marijuana came in though, it made her feel okay and made the thoughts somehow disappear so she stuck with it.

kianna grabs the jar that she stores her barely legal substance in and twists off the lid, "fuck." she mumbles under her breath and gets up. the girl grabs the little box she keeps all her luxury money in and opens it counting how much she has to spend. she usually buys 28-30 grams at a time which is far more than the legal amount at one time, but it saves her from constantly going to her dealer to buy more.

after counting the amount she has to use on her "necessities", she texts her dealer.

kianna
hey v, got any of my usual in stock?

vinnie
we've got it, but i'm taking vacation right now so i've got someone doing my deals for me.

kianna
well do they know that you give me a discount?

vinnie
kian, i don't give you a discount.

kianna
don't— don't call me kian. you know i hate that. and yes you do! you never make me pay the full 240, only 200.

vinnie
well no one knows that or else i'd get fucked up for giving only you a discount and not anyone else.

kianna
well i've been a loyal customer for years so i think it's only fair.

vinnie
whatever. i'll tell him to give you a discount but if anyone else finds out, i will boost your price.

kianna
okay okay, thank you vinnie! you're the best.

vinnie
i know i am.

she lets out a laugh before changing into something more presentable than sweats and a baggy shirt. the amount she had in her jar was enough to last her a few more days, but she didn't feel like chancing it and running out.

kianna grabs her keys from the little dish at her door and heads out to go shopping and get her goods. she was glad to be lucky enough to have money that she can just spend without having to worry about her bills not getting paid or not having anything to eat, granted she dies work two jobs to be able to have the money she has.

the first stop she had to make was getting a few groceries to make herself a decent dinner since she was fairly tired of always eating out. grocery shopping was her pride and joy for some odd reason, it helped relieve the built up stress from work on some days. as she walked through the isles of the store, she decided that homemade pizza would be the move for dinner.

after getting everything she needed for dinner, she drove to where her dealer was usually at. the place wasn't too sketchy which was the reason she kept coming back to vinnie. he wasn't the super suspicious type dealer that you'd get laced marijuana from. vinnie was definitely the only person she trusted getting her weed from which is why she was so sketched out by this "new guy". she had no idea if he'd be rude or would rip her off, she wouldn't think so though since vin probably threatened the guy.

kianna grabs her wallet and goes into the small apartment-like building. she pressed the call in button and buzzed up to the usual room number, "it's kian." she used the nickname vinnie always called her since it was like their code. the sound of the door unlocking was a signal she was all good to go in. once up to the room number, she twists the door knob and heads in. "here's the 200." the guy turns around and her heart quite literally stopped beating.
