IT WAS AN EXCITING thrill. Aura remembered the previous day while holding onto the biggest squeal. It was safe to say her vacation was taking a turn for the better. Callum's advances, Millie's jealousy, and her failure with Lacey Redd were long forgotten.

Now it was all Zachary McBane.

They had taken the liberty to enjoy each other's presence. They talked, relaxed on his bed, and got to know one another. And she had loved every second of it.

She wore a goofy smile the entire day, which weirded out her family. She didn't care. She skipped outside and sat down on the front steps, bathing in the sun and wanting to go back in time to spend her day with Zachary all over again.

"Ari!"

She turned her head with a lazy smile, and waved at Tyson as he walked towards her. He frowned, but shook his head and went over to sit beside her.

"Haven't seen much of you these few days," he said.

"Oh, I've been around with the family and stuff," she explained. She gazed down at her fingers recalling the specific stuff.

Tyson nodded, rubbing the back of his neck.

"So have you finished those cabinets?" Aura asked, breaking the prolonged silence.

He perked up. "Yeah, I have a lot more free time now. Hoping to get new clients soon."

Aura bit down on her lip as she remembered she also had a career to think about. The last time she posted anything on her socials was when she hung out with Corey, and that seemed like ages ago.

She stared at the street a few feet away, noticing leaves being blown across with the wind. Biting down on her lip, she decided it was time to do another makeup look.

"Tyson?"

He hummed in response.

"Wanna come inside and watch me do my makeup? I wanna do a little something."

He contemplated for a second before grinning. "Sure, I want to see Aura Chandler turning herself into a glazed donut."

She laughed, and got up, motioning for him to follow her. They took a bit to get into her bedroom because her family started questioning Tyson about his entire life story. She shook her head and went over to makeup tools, and started pulling them out.

After what seemed like forever, Tyson appeared by the door.

"Finally," she dragged out. "I thought I was never gonna see you again."

He shook his head and entered the room, eyeing the furniture and size as he made himself comfortable. When his eyes traveled over the vanity, his expression darkened.

"Is that where you're going to do your makeup?"

Aura looked at the vanity and shrugged. It was a wooden vanity with chippings everywhere. The mirror was broken and stained, so she needed to choose the right pieces in order to see herself well enough to work her magic. It wasn't convenient, but it was what she had.

"This is what Grandma has," she echoed.

He said nothing else. She busied herself pulling out her makeup products, wondering what direction she wanted to go for.

"Okay, no, I cannot let you do this." Tyson reached for her arm, halting her from gathering her products. "You'll do your makeup tomorrow, but today I'm making you a new vanity. What kind of makeup artist does her makeup on a piece of junk like this?"

Aura scoffed. "Well, that's how you know I'm good."

"I'm not letting you do this," he repeated. "Come on, we're going to the hardware store and making a vanity worthy of you."
