HER INTERNET SITUATION WAS slowly looking up. After posting her statement, people had gone crazy reposting it and taking it apart. Finally, they all turned their backs and went to attack poor Elaine, throwing words like: fake, hypocrite, or cancelled at her.

Aura was relieved to not have that many hate comments in her account, but she did not like that they were so quick to turn on Elaine like it was a game. Despite what she had done to Aura, she was still a human being with feelings like any other.

Regardless, if she couldn't make them stop so easily on her account, she knew it would be harder to make them stop hating on Elaine. She would have to clear her own name and deal with the herd.

Aura, however, had been stuck at Grandma Ruby's since the grocery store incident. She did not want to go outside until she knew she was safe, or at least with someone by her side. Usually, she stayed outside on the front porch with Tyson, cuddling and talking about complete nonsense. It had been almost two weeks, and she had enough.

She had called Tyson up to see if they could go out again. Unfortunately, Tyson said he had business to take care off with some potential clients. He went over before he left, apologizing and promising to make up for it in the future. He pressed a soft kiss on her forehead before leaving, waving goodbye before getting into the back of an Uber.

So there she was, lying upside down on the side of her bed, wishing the leak was still there so she had something to fuss about. Her father had fixed it a few days ago with the help of Tyson, so now her hair wasn't a frizzy mess in the mornings.

Her phone buzzed on her stomach. She groaned, pulling her face up to peak at her screen. Zachary's name shone in her face, and she flushed bright red.

Zachary: Hey, gorgeous, haven't been able to get a hold of you. There's a party tonight at my place. Maybe we can talk then? I'd love for you to come

Aura bit down on her lip, sitting up on her bed. Her breath hitched just thinking of being out in the world, surrounded by luxury and a crowd of people. She wasn't keen on the talking part, but perhaps a nice party could get her out of her funk.

Aura: sure, sounds fun ;)

SHE WASN'T AWARE OF what she was doing. The makeup brush appeared in her hand as if it were magic, and soon she was staring at the reflection of a bronze smokey eye look that made her brown eyes pop. Her hands hovered over her selection of lipsticks before settling for a matte pink nude shade. Something easy to wear and hard to rub off.

After spraying her face with setting spray, she stood up from her gorgeous vanity and plucked out her midnight blue off-shoulder dress from her suitcase. Tossing it on, she modeled it a few feet away from her vanity, liking the way it enhanced her natural curves. On her feet, she reached for her pair of silver heels she had bought on a whim when she went shopping with her family, way before the Elaine Cavette drama.

The urge to check her socials came back, crawling its way back up her chest. She let out a small groan before turning away from her phone. Ever since her statement, she had gotten even more obsessed with checking her status.

Nothing irked her more than the possibility of everything turning to crap again within seconds. So she wanted to make sure everything was alright.

She sighed, knowing she could not live like that forever. She would lay low from the socials and enjoy her time with Zachary, despite what had happened between them the last time she went to his house.

Her hands untangled her hair tie from her messy bun, and watched as soft waves tumbled down her shoulders. She dug her fingers into it, massaging her scalp in the process. After taming it with a comb, she sectioned the front part of her hair and pinned it back behind her ears, securing it with silver bobby pins. She let the rest of it cascade down her back, giving her the sleek look she wanted.
