ACCEPTANCE IS often one of the hardest tasks in life and yet it is one of the most important. There is no greater suffering than the constant feeling of guilt. But no amount of guilt can change the past. Guilt is perhaps the most painful companion of death but it is not something that you need to carry forever. There will come a point in your life when you will finally realize that even a hero can not save everyone.
"Okay, Fury's got the coded message." Happy announced as he ran past Lonnie to Peter who was still working on his suit. "Your friends are at Tower Bridge. Your boy called it London Bridge, but I figured it out." Peter turned away from his suit to face Happy who now stood beside him. "I'll scoop them up, okay?"
"Yeah." Peter nodded.
"We're close."
"We're close." Peter repeated.
"How's the suit?" Happy asked, allowing his gaze to drop down to it.
"Almost done." Peter answered.
"Good."
"Wait, wait, whoa, whoa." Peter frantically spoke as id he suddenly remembering something. Happy halted in his step to turn back to the cockpit of the jet and turned back to Peter. "Before you go.." Peter said as he pulled something out of his pocket. Lonnie leaned forward into her seat to see it appeared to be a black flower on a chain, it was a necklace. "If something happens to me, could you please give this to MJ?"
"Aww." A wide smile formed on Lonnie's face as she stared at the necklace. "Is that what you bought in Venice?"
Peter looked to Lonnie, his eyes holding a slight glimmer of surprise. In his haste to work on his suit he had almost forgotten she had awaken. "Y-Yeah." He said with a nod. "Do you think she'll like it?"
Lonnie nodded, her gaze shifting from the necklace to Peter. "She'll love it."
"You're gonna make it back." Happy sternly stated as he pushed the necklace back towards Peter. He couldn't possibly handle loosing someone else, not after Tony. "Give it to her yourself, okay? You got this."
"I got this." Peter repeated with a shaky breath.
"Walk me through it." Happy suggested.
"I know it's illusion tech. All I have to do is get inside the illusion, then I can take it down, find him, and he's just a guy, so I can take EDITH right back." Peter explained.
"Right." Happy said though he saw the smidge of cockiness in Peter's words. "But last time, you got hit by a train and Lonnie got stabbed with a knife."
"True." Peter nodded trying to morph how he was going to say his next words. "But this time--How do I explain this? Uh...I have a sixth sense."
Recognition flashed in Happy's eyes as he eagerly nodded his head. "The Peter-tingle."
