chapter 13 - chatting in the common room

okay then. leaving the boys restroom without anyone noticing? a lot easier than i thought. will keep that in mind.

i continue to walk back to my dorm but i gotta pass by the library to pick up a book for tomorrow's lesson. when i get there, i see tom at the back of the room again. "hello garner." "hey tom, thanks again for that." "it was no problem, although i thought we would pretend for longer." "yeah, i'm afraid we might. but just in front of malfoy." "alright, tell me when you need me." "got it, thank you." he doesn't smile, but his eyes soften. he never smiles much, except if it's something VERY meaningful. that's always how it's been for him.

i get to the librarian and tell her i got my book and the name. i turn around and crash into someone, making all their books fall. "oi i'm so sorry!!" it was a boy, my age. he looked very worried about something. "oh no it's okay. sorry i made your books fall." i say as i help him pick them up. "hold on.. you're in herbology too?" i say after seeing his plant books. "yeah, um, are you? wait that makes no sense because you already tol-" "hahah yeah i have herbology too." i smile. i'm really nice when i want to be. i'm also really mean if i wanna be. 😀

i start walking back with my two books and get to the common room. "mara! where've you been? you haven't been sneaking around with tom have you?" blaise says. i quickly look around if malfoy is there, i spot him listening to our conversation next to the fireplace. "maybe i have." "oooh tell me!" "i'll tell you later blaise." draco turns his full focus back down to his book. i don't wanna hurt him even more after seeing him hurt like that. for what reason? well idk, maybe, i'm a sympathetic person???

anyways, blaise and i talk for some time about whatever, and then i see malfoy get up and walk into his dorm. he has one of those "single dorms" meaning his dad bribed the head of slytherin to give him his own, and all the other boys had to share between 4 rooms, 8 each. the girls luckily shared 5 rooms, 6 each. it's not that bad. really, just make sure you all know what time to use the bathroom so no one has to wait for the other to leave. the rooms are pretty spacious cuz of magic. i wonder what it looks like in his dorm.

"so? tell me!!" "ugh fine." okay now i gotta make up what happened. nothing too juicy. "we met up at the bathrooms." "did you guys hook up?" he says excitedly. "ew no. it wasn't like that. we just hung out." "ugh boringgg." dude. "kinda weird you're so invested in our relationship." "oh come on, the last good relationship hogwarts has had was hagrid and that giant lady." we both laugh. "yeah, true."
"okay mara i have something i wanna do." "okay?" i laugh. "no hear me out." i nod. "i'm thinking of having a huge truth or dare sesh tomorrow after school." shittt that would be so cool. "hell yeah that sounds like fun, but we have detention tomorrow." his smile fades. "you forgot didn't you?" he nods. "well we can do it the next day?" "okay, sure. more time to tell people about it." "how many people are we talking?" "like 10, max." "oh okay great." i yawn, and i notice my eyes start to feel heavy. "i'm gonna go to bed blaise." i stand up and start walking to my dorm room. "goodnight garner." i turn, "goodnight lover boy." i hear him chuckle as i open the door.
the lights are already off, what time is it? THREE AM? oh shit it's late!!! i figure it's too late to brush my teeth so i just go straight to bed. today was pretty good.
