𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐬 - 𝐣𝐚𝐭𝐩

Julie has been working non stop for two weeks straight. From s.a.t prep, to writing songs with luke for the band. To say she was exhausted was an understatement. She felt this pressure on her, like she was holding the entire world on her. If she makes one slip up, it falls.

She walks home and already ambushed with questions.

"Can you take me to the park?"

"Can you help me make dinner?"

"Can you clean the garage?"

"Did you remember your tutor sessions with mr. White?"

She nods, and smiles weakly as the questions continue, panic rushing through her. When she finally escapes the questions, she makes it to her room slowly closing the door before sliding down to sit on the floor, runing her fingers through her softly tangled curly hair.

She breathes in and then out to calm down her breathing when she hears someone poof in. She looks up to see luke.

"Hey julie, can we start our new song today? Youve put it off for a week now and i have stuff to do so todays my last day open" he says and suddenly julie cant take it anymore. Tears fall down her face, as she nods yes, as luke stares, very taken back.

"Yeah, can you just give me a minute" she says, so weak and soft as if shes about to break, tears still slowly falling, Her eyes closed. Instead of leaving luke sits next to her. His knees pressed up to his chest, and his arms wrapped around them.

"Jules?" He says softly, but julie doesnt meet his eyes so he moves his hand to her chin, and slowly moves her head up so their eyes can meet. "Jules, are you okay?" He asks and julie nods.

"Yeah, no, yeah im fine" she says pressing her lips, trying to hold the rest of her tears back.

"Julie, please be honest with me" luke says, resting his chin on his arm.

Julie sighs before continuing "i feel tired" she says running her fingers through her hair. "Its been a lot" she confesses "ever since the orpheum its like i never have time to focus on me" she says, tilting her head back so it lays on the door as she sighs once more and luke nods, taking in every word.

"Whens the last time you had a full nights rest?"

"I-i, i dont know" she says, trying to remember a night where she wasnt studding or working on a song.

"Then sleep, right now. Ill wake you up in a couple hours. You need energy" he says and julie nods as she scoots next to him, resting her head on his shoulders, causing him to have a small smile stretch on his lips.

"Hey julie-" reggie says, barging through the door to see julies head resting on lukes collar bone. Luke glares at him, daring him to speak another word. Reggie, being scared that luke might kill him, quickly leaves the two alone again.

𝐋𝐔𝐊𝐄 𝐏𝐀𝐓𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍𝐒 𝐏𝐎𝐕

She had been sleeping for three hours, me sitting there being her personal pillow. I didnt mind, she needed the rest. It made up for the guilty feeling from also adding to the pressure she had been feeling. It broke my heart seeing her break down like that.

I told her to move so i could sit behind her, so it would be more comfortable for the both of us, and she willingly agreed. I softly played with her curly hair as she rested. I dont know why i havent fallen asleep yet with her, like i was tired and my eyes were barely open but it was like i needed to stay awake to protect her? If that makes sense. Like i was her safe place, and i needed to gaurd her.

She softly dug her head into my chest as small snores came from the small figure. I wrapped my arms around her and waited a little longer before deciding to wake her.
