Kali meets Blizzard

Chapter 1

It was Christmas again! Everyone's favorite time of the year. 

Except for one teenage boy named Dan Hunter, who was feeling rather sad this holiday season. 

You see, a couple months back Dan's family had moved away, forcing him to leave all of his old friends behind. This would be Dan's first Christmas since the move. Even though Dan had gotten used to his new house and made a few new friends, he was still heartbroken, especially during this time of year. 

He wouldn't eat any cookies or watch those Christmas specials on TV with his family... He wouldn't even leave his room!

His parents knew that if this keeps up it was going to be a very Un-merry Christmas.

Desperate times call for desperate measures...

They decided to call up a good friend of theirs to come over and help Dan with his problem. It was hard enough on them as it was dealing with a new baby and such. But this special person was sure to wash all of Dan's troubles away. 

The family was about in their house, minding their own business when they heard a knock on the door. Dan's parents went to answer it... It was her! The very special person they had called for to help their son in his desperate time of need. 

"Have no fear, I am here!" The eccentric woman made her entrance. "Your help has arrived!" 

Dan's parents were so happy she had come over so quickly, considering that she lived right next door to them. 

"Thank you so much for coming" Dan's mother thanked the woman, while holding her baby in her arms. 

"Oh, it's no trouble at all" The woman gave a warm smile. 

This lady was very nice to Dan's family. She had been ever so good to them since they first moved here. 

"We don't know what else to do" Dan's father said. 

"Well, don't worry about a thing. You just leave this to me" The woman assured them. 

"Christmas is a time for faith and family, and presents and turkey. Luckily I made it just in time with a breath to spare" She explained. 

"Well, good luck" Dan's parents said to her, as they'd let her go off now to work her magic. 

The young woman made her way up the stairs to the second floor of the house when she passed by spotting Dan's little brother Zane watching some Xmas specials on the TV in the living room. The woman headed straight up to Dan's room and knocked on his door. 

"Go away..." A voice from inside, Dan's, said bleakly. 

"Well, that was the original plan. But..." The woman began. 

She then suddenly heard footsteps running across the floor and up to the door, unlocking it revealing Dan. 

He managed a small smile up to the woman, telling her. "Boy, am I sure glad to see you"

Dan welcomed her into his room where she saw his black dog Verago laying on the bed. 

"Hey, Verago" The woman waved to Verago. 

"Hi" The black dog smiled and greeted her back. 

But actually, this was just a cloaking device to hide Verago's true form as he was really a mythical creature with big paws and wings, half macaw, half jaguar. They were called Jaquins. But let's not make this about Verago, that was a story for another time. 

"Where are your kids?" Dan decided to ask this strange woman he was friends with. Trying to keep the conversation as normal as possible. 

"They're out with their dad Christmas shopping" She replied.
