The night that was

Barry's POV

After I defeated the teleporting meta which was the only thing keeping my mind off what just happened with me and Cait, I started thinking "maybe it was a drunk kiss?"
"Or is she was just feeling sappy from Ronnie?"
"Am I her rebound?"
"Is she my rebound?"
I was conflicted by my confusion on where I stand with cait. But then I finally came to a conclusion that those feelings were real. But I was scared of they weren't real for her.
I sped to joes and my house and jumped on my bed and fell asleep

Dream sequence

I opened my eyes and saw darkness illuminated by the moon light
A woman in a wedding dress walked out of the darkness.
The woman had a veil covering her face and she started raising her hands then took it off.
It was iris.
Her body started morphing again than became.. Caitlin

Caitlins POV

My heads killing me and I don't know if that kiss was real. I thought. I started asking myself questions on what to do
"Should I ask him if it was real?"
"Should I tell him I wasn't drunk?"
"Does he like me?"
"Do I even like him?"
"Why do I feel this way?" I thought

3rd person

As Caitlin got out of her bed and opened her blinds revealing a blinding light she quickly closed the blinds and grabbed her sunglasses and tried to get ready for work in the dark.

While Caitlin finished getting ready she thought maybe it won't be so bad to like Barry.

Barry's POV

As Caitlin walked into Star labs I noticed that she had sunglasses on. I said to her "you really can't hold your liquor can you?"
I started thinking "maybe she doesn't remember what happened last night?"
"Should I ask her?"
Heyy do you wanna bring out the 100 ton elephant in the room? I asked
"Depends on what it is but sure" she said in a confused voice
I scratched my neck in nervousness and said
"Our kiss, and our time at the bar did you like it?"
Caitlin grew a grin on her face then started walking to Barry then kissed him on the cheek then said
"I really did, especially that kiss. I hope we can do it again sometime"
Barry grew his famous grin on his face then said "Maybe we can go to dinner sometime?"
Caitlin blushes then says "sure, just give me a location and ti—-"
Both Caitlins and Barry's phone buzzed with a alert "It's from Cisco" they both said at the same time

3rd person

Caitlin and Barry walked into the cortex and sees dr. Wells next to Cisco in a chair with a black eye.
"What happened?!" They both exclaimed
Cisco here tried to search into the burning man case by letting heartley go dr. Wells said in a disappointed tone
Cisco are you okay? Barry said in a confused tone
Yea I'm just disappointed I didn't get the information I needed Cisco said
I told you to drop the case Cisco! Caitlin said
I wasn't doing it all for you, everyday I wake up and I still think what could've happened if I waited 20 more seconds to close the pipeline door maybe we wouldn't be having this conversation or maybe you could've had your better life! Cisco exclaimed
Cisco, I'm moving on. I think it's time for you to move on too. Caitlin said in a sincere tone

Well you got any tips? because no matter how hard I try I can't forgive myself! Cisco said
I'm gonna go stretch my legs, you guys continue your conversation dr. Wells said while rolling away with a smile on his face
Cisco maybe try to find a relationship because it's actually helping me Caitlin said trying not to hint at anything
Well I don't have a girlfriend and I think 3 friends is en—- wait what relationship Caitlin? Cisco said in a surprised yet confused voice
I mean like maybe you should expand your horizons Caitlin tries to say without sounding nervous with his question
Well Hartley is probably far away from central city by now Barry says trying to change the subject
Nah somethings going on with you two, you both walked in here with smiles and blush's on your faces Cisco says accusing Caitlin and Barry hiding something
Cisco there's nothing going on but anyways we got a meta to track Barry says
Somethings definitely up but yes I do agree we need to find Hartley Cisco says
I'm gonna do my everyday run around the city Barry says

Barry's suit disappears just as a flash goes by Caitlin and feels for a split second a kiss from Barry and she blushes and the chair that Cisco's in spins

Barry's POV

When I started running throughout the city I started thinking where to take Caitlin out for dinner.
"Fancy restaurant?"
"Jitters?"
"Maybe a picnic?"
"She might like that? No that's too fast."
"Is it though?"
"Maybe a standard nice restaurant? That could work?"
Hey Barry you wanna talk about dinner? Caitlin said in comms
Sure, got any ideas on the location? I tried to spurt out without any of my nervousness coming out
I'd love a good surprise Caitlin said
Ok I'll pick you up (literally) at 6:00. I have an idea I said Excitedly

3rd person

After Cisco went to the bathroom trying to clean his eye then when he got out he started walking down the hall to the cortex when he over heard Caitlin and Barry making plans about dinner and smiled with excitement and decided to finish his work somewhere else to let them talk

Barry's POV

After I got out of my suit I decided to head to the police department to see if there are any leads on Hartley
Hey barr what's going on I haven't seen you all day? Joe said asked concerned
Cisco got punched by our new meta and I set up dinner with a friend I blurted out
Wow that's really awesome, whose the lucky girl? He said surprised
Caitlin I said
Wow I did not see that coming joe said with his same surprised tone
Well I didn't suspect it either I said
Well good luck Barr joe said then walked away
I went into my workspace and was seeing where to look to find Hartley then looked at my moms old case board like I always do when I'm stumped
My phone started ringing
It's iris
I accepted the call
Hey what's going on? She said
Nothin I'm just trying to find new leads on the new sound meta? I said
Well what are you doing right now? She asked
I was actually trying to find leads but he seemed to just fall of the face off the earth
Do you got a name for him? She said
He calls himself the pipe piper I said
Hey are you doing anything tonight? she asked
I'm actually going to dinner with Caitlin tonight I replied
Wow that is surprising iris says
Joe said that too, honestly I was surprised too, it was just magic I answered honestly
And do you like her? Iris asked
I really do, I cant wait till tonight I answered

She ended the call then I started thinking about iris

"The girl I had a crush on for so long but then lost those feelings because they weren't reciprocated"
"And I guess that's fine, because what I felt with Caitlin last night it just felt new and different than anything I've felt before"
Why do I feel this way? Said to himself
"How she made me feel last night, her brown curly hair, her personality, so forgiving yet can probably beat the hell out of you"

It was my watch it's time to pick up cait?
Already? Has my head been in the clouds for the past few hours?
I quickly got home and got a suit jacket on
(the one he was gonna wear for Linda's and his date) Then I started running to Caitlins dorm when about a minute of running I felt that electricity again, that adrenaline when I see her, how it felt when I kissed her.
The feeling of wanting to protect her no matter what. The thought of her made me feel like I was wanting to see her, feel her, kiss her, protect her more and more, my heart was a aching at the thought of her. I started losing my breath with every single thought of her. I stopped outside of her apartment building to catch my breath...
