Masked Existence

School ended at its usual time . But Danny and Zeus were detained. So , they had to stay back at school .

Mr. Ackerman was going through the test papers while Danny and Zeus worked separately on a topic handed over to them by him .

The questions were easy , Danny has to explain the various stages of cell division along with the diagrams . Danny focused on his paper and within 25 minutes of his detention he submitted his paper to Mr. Ackerman.

Mr. Ackerman went through his paper and said , " Danny , if you can write your paper with so much precision then why did you have to take Zeus's help in the test ?"

Danny didn't uttered a word . He remained silent as always and hung his head low.

Mr. Ackerman continued , " Well , whatever may be your reason , I don't want to know, all I want is you to write your paper exactly like this one that you wrote now" , with this he gestured Danny to take his seat .

Zeus submitted his paper as well , it was well written . Mr. Ackerman didn't say much to him .

"Well as both of you wrote your papers and it was satisfactory as well , Danny , you'll be assigned your assignments but as of now you both are detained and..." before he could complete his sentence his phone rang . Mr. Ackerman excused himself .

Danny released a sigh of relief. He's out of trouble now .

Mr. Ackerman was taking his sweet time to return . Danny felt bored . He rested his head against the desk and dozed off without his knowledge in no time .

Mr. Ackerman returned and said , " Well , the detentions over...is Danny sleeping?"

"Yes , I'll wake him up"

"Well then wake him up and lock the doors and then leave , okay ?"

"Okay , Sir"

With these , Mr. Ackerman took his belongings and left the classroom.

The whole school is silent . It's almost 6 in the clock . The moon is visible in the sky now and the sound of the cicadas filled the environment and amidst this were two hearts , one with it's calming pace and other racing .

Zeus stood up and slowly pulled the desk next to Danny closer to him and took the seat . He looked at Danny , his face had the calm of nature , the calm that comes after a storm , the calm that is addicting, the calm that Zeus has searched for long . Danny is sleeping without any care in the world . "Pfft, how can he let his guard down just like this" , Zeus thought to himself . He lifted his left hand and slowly ran hus fingers through his head . "His hairs are soft" , with this Zeus lifted his hand and started gazing at Danny just like someone gazing at the stars .

The sun's almost down leaving a crimson light. In this light Danny's regular white shirt became magnetic, Danny's slender pale fingers all relaxed, his breathing at ease , his pink lips little parted , his eyes shut . Zeus couldn't take his eyes off him . He wanted to posses Danny , he wanted to monopolise him forever. But he knows it's not the right time .

Since the first day when he saw Danny, he  lost himself . The left side of his chest has started to act funny . He always despised the emotional functioning of the hormones which forces you to act irrational , he even despised everyone bonded together in a mutual acceptance of each other , he despised love that equates Romeo and Juliet , he despised love that gives shelter to  Alexander and Hephaestion , he despised love that caused the Trojan war - he despised them all , at least that's what he thought but with the arrival of Danny everything seems to go upside down - the workings of the heart has never been his genre but then why he is so adamant to see Danny's eyes change their expression whenever he does something stupid to him , like today , when he fondled his waist amidst the test he couldn't hear what Danny said , he was busy looking at his eyes , his eyes that had anger in it  or the way he gets uncomfortable whenever he calls him 'Kitty' ; sometimes he wants to torment him and sometimes he wants to steal him from everyone and run away to a far away place .

Danny slowly opened his eyes. He almost jumped as he saw the clock , it's already 7 , he saw Zeus looking at him with a completely different expression in his eyes .

"So, did you sleep well ?"

Danny didn't answer. He started collecting his belongings and was about to leave when Zeus grabbed his hands and pulled him close. Danny stumbled upon Zeus , his notebooks and pens all got scattered on the floor .

Zeus grabbed Danny by his waist with his one hand while the other groped Danny's buttcheeks. Danny struggled to free himself but just like that night , his actions went in vain .

" Stop resisting me kitty, you already know that it's not easy to get rid of me"

Danny continued to free himself  but the more he tried the more Zeus held him tight.

"Are you angry kitty ?....I'm sorry I didn't mean to get you detained but you see you have been avoiding me for the past few days which made me angry  and you know you a notorious kitty is ought to be punished for disobeying his master !"

"Zeus , enough of this now let me go"

"No I won't"

"Zeus please enough of this already , don't you get tired ?"

"No not at all, I can play with my kitty all day long", with this Zeus buried his head in Danny's chest , " Smells like tangerines again", he thought to himself.

Danny was startled, if somebody sees them in such a position they will get the wrong idea , " Zeus , stop it , let me go"

"Okay I'll let you go if you sing for me, now don't give me excuses that you can't sing or something I have already heard you sing , so , will you ?"

Danny's pupils dilated , he never sang in front of anybody except when he was alone , then did he hear him sing when he sang outside that night ?

"Don't think too much kitty just meow to me and I'll be satisfied"

"What do you think of me Zeus ? I am no cat that you'll pet me , now cut the crap and move", Danny's voice reeked of anger .

Zeus smirked and loosened his grip. Danny started collecting his scattered belongings from the floor and stood up . He was about to leave when Zeus hugged from behind.

"Zeus , what's the meaning of this ? Aren't you satisfied already after teasing me for this long ?"

"Do you really think that this little fooling around will satisfy me ? Poor kitty , you're too naive but just remember one thing", Zeus's embrace tightened , he leaned towards Danny's right ear and whispered , " You belong to me and I don't like to share my stuff , always keep this in mind , kitty"

Danny was shocked , he stood there without any movement , Zeus loosened his grip and released Danny from his embrace . Danny turned to see Zeus's face , it has changed . It has changed to the same menacing expression that he always wears .
