Ignition

Danny was getting accustomed to the childish pranks put forward by the "Mighty Zeus" but he didn't complained about it because all he wanted for him was to enjoy his 1 year break before getting back to his old life .

Josh grinned his way to Danny , "Heya nerd boy, get ready to get all grooovyyyy!!!!!"

"Huh-What ?"

"Why ? Don't you like to go all groovy  ? I love boys who can dance and sing well", Josh said in one go and stopped to get only disappointed at Danny's expressionless face , since he came out to Danny as a homosexual guy he always bores Danny up about his preferences in guys .

"Danny you're always a spoil sport , even if you don't swing this way isn't it rude to be giving that pensive look of yours ?", Josh rolled his eyes as he complained .

Danny was about to say something when Zeus along with his group arrived .

Danny clearly despised their existence and went through his notebook , 'chemistry actually sucks', he thought to himself when suddenly a football dropped over his desk out of nowhere scattering all his books and notes on the floor. Danny quickly collected all his belongings, Josh helped him as well .

"Well look at you , finally you found your right place eh !" , said the red head .

Danny looked up to see Zeus standing in front of him along with his bimbos. Danny stood up with no expression on his face , he turned around to put his stuff in his bag when Zeus grabbed him by his collar and turned him around to face him .

Danny took a good look at Zeus this time . He is as tall as Danny himself , his complexion is a few shades darker than Danny , his facial features are on the sharper side , his expression is always menacing . But interestingly his eyes , his eyes tell a different story .

Danny was taking a good look at him when Zeus loosened his grip and pushed him away . Danny was startled for a moment but recovered quickly .

"You're a very stubborn kid , to think someone will not bow even after ending up unconscious in the infirmary impresses me , I mean isn't it boring to get what you want just at the movement of your finger....clearly I was bored....but now now....look what we've got here....a stubborn little kitty...it'll be fun.....let's have a match this Saturday evening, my team against yours....oh wait , you don't even have a team right kitty ?", Zeus said and glanced over the rest of the class and addressed, " Our little kitty here needs a team make sure you people help him out and if you don't.....oh sorry there is no question of don't , how silly of me !", Zeus smirked and turned his gaze again towards Danny .

Danny was standing as expressionless as ever , Zeus stepped closer and cupped Danny's face and said, "The match starts at 6 in the evening, make sure to get there in time with your team kitty or are you planning to hole up somewhere?"

"I'll be there", Danny replied shoving Zeus' hands off .

"Woah, wildcat ! I like it!, it'll be fun !", with this Zeus left the class.

Josh spoke breaking the silence , "Danny you're not planning to...."

"Yes", Danny said cutting in.

"Danny you know it's death trap , Zeus is mad dog I know he won't stop until he has your head but where is the smart guy Danny whom I know ? Why are you giving yourself willingly in when you are clearly aware of his intentions ?"

"Because I am sick and tired of his silly pranks , I want this to settle for once and good"

"No!!!! This match is not gonna settle the dispute , if things go wrong , it'll only trigger the future devastation, you don't know anything about Zeus , he is rumoured to be the son of some mafia , it won't be surprising to find your dead body lying on some remote area , for god's sake understand the sensitivity of the situation Danny !"

"Josh relax , do you trust me ?"

"No"

"Good, get me a team and we'll settle this for good"

"Are you deaf ? I just said I don't trust you and all you're asking for is to make a team ?"

"Yes"

Josh stood there dumbfounded for a bit then reached for Danny's hands, he held them tight and firm and all of a sudden pulled him , dragging him towards the door.

"W-what are you doing ? Where are you dragging me to ?"

" I knew you were different but now I am sure you are a lunatic , my dad's a doc let's get your head checked up for good"

Danny pulled Josh to a halt and said , " Josh , Josh calm down and listen to me...."

"What's there to listen ?"

"Just listen me out, I said I'm gonna settle this for good , we're gonna win, trust me , please"

"Okay", Josh said pouting , " But I don't know about your football skills ?"

"You'll see when we practice , we clearly just have 4 days to prepare so please help me out"

"But if you end up dying don't blame me , okay ?"

"Okay !....By the way before Zeus broke in what was that you were saying ?"

"Oh I totally forgot , it's almost time for the high school festival !!!!!"

"High school festival ?"

"My nerd boy , let me enlighten you about this - the cultural festival is organised by our neighbouring St. Teresa Highschool for boys  every year before summer break as a gesture of bringing up promising future responsible adults, the participants of this festival are St. Stephens, Nothern High and East High with Teresa as the organiser , though it's named as a festival but it is actually St. Stephens VS St. Teresa always as we are the greatest rival in the history of rivalry and our rivalry trace back to the time of the creation of these two schools probably , St. Stephen's always score good in the sports but lack in the performing arts , St. Teresa on the other hand has won for the past 3 years and St. Stephens for once which had only triggered the hatred"

"Whatever, I'm not going to any of this !"

"Oh no-no , you can't run off like that , every student has to participate in at least one event , it's a two day long festival and ends with a dj night , here's the list of curriculum, suit yourself !"

Danny took the list and went through the contents -

Day 1 competition: Sports corner -

1. Half Marathon.
2. Football
3. Swimming
4. Cycling
5. Baseball.

Day 2 competition: Performing Arts -

1. Singing- Single/Doubles/Squad
2: Dance - Single/Doubles/Squad
3. Beatboxing
4. Instruments
5. Drama

"So, what ya think ?"

"Don't know but when does it start ?"

"March 15 to 17"

"Okay , it's just January 18th we have ample amount of time but before that let's settle the football match first"

"True....mmmm okay let's meet up at the playground today after school , I'll gather my team there and we'll talk it over"
