Dick

"Watch out!" 

I yelled and pushed her out of the way of a large fallen concrete. The smell of the ocean filled me as soon as I pulled her into me. She looked startled, the first major expression I've see on her face all day.

"T-thank you..."

"Don't sweat it. It's what I do."

She smiled, and together we took off running again as the building fell apart around us. 

Even though she was tired and weak, it didn't bother her as she maneuver around the falling construction. It made me wonder, what had she gone through to have such endurance?

I could sense the anxiety in my friends, we most likely won't make it out in time, but she didn't seem to think that.

The raven-haired girl stopped midrun and turned to us.

"Trust me." She said and raised her hands.

The world came crashing down on us.
