"Come on dude, you gotta eat."
"Henry, you aren't feeding him right."
"What do you mean? Here's a apple! Here's a human!"
                              "He barely has teeth!"
                              "He can gum it down."
"Feed him the baby food on the counter? You know, that says it's for Ryland."
"....that would make more sense." Rolling my eyes with a smile as Rylan's laughs in Henry's lap I find it comical with how hard Henry is trying. He's been around a lot more this week than I've ever seen him, but's it's nice to have some company that Xander let's in the house.
Even after a month of us being back here, with everything acting how it was before I was taken, Xander doesn't trust a lot of people around him when we are home alone.
He puts up a face as Alpha, as one who's changed. He use to be this angry duck head who was extremely good at ordering, and now he is still that angry dick head just died down and not as angry.
But when we are home, he's more...paranoid? Protective and cautious. I don't know who to explain it. I don't remember half of what I felt or went through because of the blood loss and things Alexander ejected into me.
Besides the point, Henry is the only one aloud in the house right now. Xander won't let anyone else come see me here, and I can't really leave because of Ryland.
I don't want people seeing a lot of him right now. We Buried Diana a few days ago, and that was not easy. People came, a lot of God's and Goddesses for Xander and I. A lot of them offered to stay and help, with us and Ryland, offered to take him because they knew Diana too if we couldn't do it. I know Xander would jump at the fact, but I turned them all down in the end.
I was the one who turned most of them away after the burial. It's been weird, I feel like I'm only babysitting even though she isn't coming back. It's just weird to know my friend died, we had only recently gotten close. I don't like crying, and I've cried at least twice a day now because of her death.
That's what people are suppose to do, right? Things just aren't normal after everything, I don't think they will be for a long time.
"Can you get him dressed? I'm going to go check on Xander."
"I can go check on him Maze."
"I've got it." Henry gives me a small smile as I leave the kitchen and go down the hall to Xander's home office.
He's been more distant too. Like the first time I met him. It's because there is a baby here. He's not happy with that decision. Knocking on the door, I sigh when there is no answer.
                              "Xander? Are you awake?"
                              Nothing.
"Xander, I'm coming in..." opening the door a crack to see him not here, I look around and see him sleeping on the floor in a sitting position, his cheeks and eyes puffy from being tired, and what I think is crying.
I almost closed the door and left but something pulled me into him, sitting next to him and gently laying him down in my lap. He'll be mad when he wakes up, but I just needed to hold him for a moment. It's been a week of him locking himself in a room that isn't with Ryland and I.
I've barely 'hi' to him over this past week, let alone have been able to hold him. Running a hand through his hair as he gently snores in my lap, I smile in comfort as his hand moves to rest on my leg.
"You smell like a baby Mazealine." Bane.
                              "Good morning Bane."
                              "No, You reek of baby."
