The next morning Fred woke up in his room, dazed a bit from the lack of sleep. He couldn't remember what had happened the previous night but he had a faint idea that it was about you. As hard as he tried to remember, he did; the way you came to the room, laid on his lap and just fell asleep. How your muscles started to relax on his touch and how adorably you took in light snores. All of those blessed memories put a smile on his lips.

A smile that was taken away as soon as he stepped to the Great Hall to get breakfast.

You weren't there- with him, nor with his friends. You were at the Ravenclaw's table, talking to Cho and some of her friends but that was not what wiped his smile off his face as soon as it came on. It was the arm that was wrapped around you. His arm. The blonde date to the Ball.

You shifted in your position but his hand kept rubbing on your back until it was placed on your shoulders, hanging down friendly. He leaned in, laughing as you laughed and the eyes he gave you weren't the eyes of a friend. Actually, far from it. His sea-blue eyes observed your every move, even when you weren't talking to him.

Fred could look for too long. He felt his jaw clench as well as his palms, nails digging into them. He felt enormous jealousy running through his veins. It wasn't just that you avoided him and spent most of your time with George when you were with a group of his friends, it was that he knew George was just a friend to you but the boy you were with now... he didn't want to be friends with you- not even the slightest.

What was worse for Fred was the way Anis looked. He was dashing looking- with his stocky, athletic body structure, wide jaw, sea-blue eyes, perfectly blonde hair, toothy grin that won most of the girls over... his cheeks were a bit sunk but dimples still formed whenever his plump lips stretched over his face. His hands were big, veins popping out. His nails were clean, cuticles nicely trimmed, skin nicely tan...

Fred felt something unfamiliar wash over him. He looked at his hands and saw the dark smoke powder under his nails, his fingers longs, hands big- he looked away. Was he being insecure? - he thought, shutting his eyes before looking back to the boy who held you in his arms. Mate was built like a Greek god.

He cursed the Serb in his head, glaring bit at him and focusing on the guy for too long before he even realized that you weren't beside him anymore. His eyes widened at the realization. How long was he staring? Where did-

"Cho Chang and (y/n)(y/l/n) are buddies?" George was grinning as you were sitting next to him and in front of Fred.

"I have friends." you laughed, getting Fred's attention immediately and nudging George a bit. "Nobody was here yet, so Cho invited me over- we're actually great friends." you smiled.

"You and Cho? I don't believe it." said Ginny.

"Yes, me and Cho." you rolled your eyes. "I am great friends with a lot of people."

"You liar." George couldn't accept it.

"First of all, just because you don't see me with the same people every day, does not mean I am a loner." you looked at Fred, mocking his words and seeing a faint, guilty blush cover his cheeks. "And Cho has always been so kind to me. We met in the Third year at Diagonalley and my mother, chatty as always, ran into hers, they started complaining over the long line, they became friends and it's practically a rule that Cho and I had to too." you laughed, seeing Ginny nod.

"I know exactly how you're talking about."

"She's a great friend." you looked over your shoulder to see her talking with Cedric. "I'm happy she found him." you turned back and locked your eyes with Fred's, who were watching you before. A nice, heart-warming smile on his lips and meant for you.

"Lucky bastard." Fred leaned back, crossing his arms over his chest and shaking his head. "Can't believe he got into the tournament and we were a year away." he looked at George and George nodded.

"Lucky... sure..." Harry added, completely drowning in his misery after hearing you talk about Cho.

"Chin up, Harry." you leaned over George and tried to catch his eyes. "At least you can tell your kids interesting stories."

"Oh, sure." he scoffed. "Yeah, kids, that was me the year I thought everything will be normal before surprise surprise Harry Potter. You're gonna fight a bloody dragon." he spoke sarcastically and you laughed.

"What's wrong with that? When I was fifteen the only thing I fought was anxiety."

"I wonder what's gonna be next year Harry." Fred grinned, leaning back with his hands behind his head but his eyes soley on you.

"Harry Potter and the Slash of-"

"Don't you dare finish this, George." you glared at George as he dared to challenge you back. You felt a tap on your shoulder and averted your gaze from George to Cho, who was smiling gently at you, Anis and Cedric by her side.

"Ready to go?" she asked softly and you smiled.

"Sure, let me just-"

"I got this." Anis took the books you wanted to carry by yourself, making you glance at Fred, whose eyes were focused on the man.

"What a gentleman." Fred smiled but grit his teeth as he did.

"Nice to see you too, Fredrick." Anis winked back at him, which made Fred more furious.

You let out a laugh, as well as George. "Come on." you tapped Anis back and pushed him forward.

"Isn't it Fredrick?" Anis continued to act daft, making you shake your head with a smile. You looked over your shoulder and gave Fred a warm smile, just before you left.

Maybe it led Fred to believe he still had you for a bit but he didn't trust his intuition when it came to you and the Serb. Besides the looks the boy had, he also had his hands always over you and you didn't budge. Not even once moved away from him- but then again, why would you?

Fred made it obvious, months ago that he did not want to be with you the same way you wanted to be with him but not anymore. Not anymore. He just wanted you to be in his hold, in his arms... He wants to tell you so badly how he feels about you but what if you had moved on in all those months before he realized what he wanted? What if you had forgotten about your emotions, your feelings for the boy who had hurt you in the past...

What he did not realize though, was that emotions... feelings... love... it doesn't just disappear. You can't just forget, at least not when it's all still there- it's how it is with you.
