Chapter 28

Tide

"Okay, we will be doing to pole drill again,"I said.

"Again?"Luke asked.

"Again,"I confirmed.

"Do they have to watch?"Nico asked.

"Well, Jason said that it would help, so why not?"I told him.

"No reason, just asking,"he replied.

"I'll go first, then you guys can choose who goes next."

"Okay,"they replied simultaneously 

"Let's start,"I said.

Then I summoned the pole, and stuck it into the dirt. I created a barrier, and stepped inside. After I got on the pole, I summoned some monsters. My body ached in pain. My heart hammered against my chest in protest to fighting when I'm not supposed to.

Since I'm not supposed to fight, I didn't summon as much monsters as usual. About 1,000. I pulled out Snowstorm because I'm pretty sure Jason would recognize Riptide. I miss using Riptide. 

The first monster was a dracanae.  I jumped, and did a front flip, and squashing it's face in. It shrieked, and disappeared. The next one was an emposai . I raised Snowstorm, and cut off it's head. One after another monsters came flying, and one after another I defeated them.

My heart beat quickened, and my body worsened. I still fought, despite the consequences, and in the end I managed to defeat all of them without breaking a sweat. I jumped off the pole, and landed on my feet.

"What's my time?"I asked Zoe.

"2 minutes!"she shouted back.

I loved hearing her voice.

"Who's going next?"

"I am,"Thalia said.

I walked over, and stood next to Ethan. I could hear the campers muttering in the back in awe. Wish they could fight like that?

"Begin!"

We got through everybody, in less than 30 minutes. We each got 1,000 monsters each, and we all defeated them. They didn't suffer as many injuries as the first time they tried.

"Nice work, everybody, now we will run around the camp 5 times, and we have to make it back in, let's see, 10 minutes, sound good?"I asked.

"Yes, Lord Tide,"they chorused.

"10 minutes?! That's, like, impossible,"someone shouted.

We'll see about that.

"And go!"

Then we began running. We all sped off at the speed of light. We ran, and ran, and I didn't even know ow much time has passed until we finished. I finished first, then Nico, Thalia, Zoe, Ethan, then Luke, Calypso, and Bianca finished at the same time.

"What time is it?"Calypso asked.

We weren't even panting.I looked at the stopwatch.

"6 minutes,"I told her.

"Dang."

"6 minutes?"

"Are you serious?"

"Pfft, that's nothing."

The campers muttered. I guessed that Theo said that last one.

"Can you do that?"Zoe asked. 

"Of course I can, if you can do it so can I,"he said.

"Then do it,"Luke said.

We all looked at him expectantly. He had no way to get out of this now.

"Okay,"he said. 

I could tell he was unsure.

"You have 10 minutes to run the camp 5 times, ready go!" 

And off he went. We probably stood there for about 45 minutes when he came back. He was panting so hard, and looked like he was going to pass out, I actually thought he was going to.

"50 minutes,"Nico said.

Theo frowned.

"Think you can still do it?"Ethan asked.

"You will pay for this, my father will beat the crap out of you,"he growled threateningly.

"Um, I think it's the other way around,remember, I beat him,and I kicked your butt,"I said.

He growled again, and stalked away. All the campers erupted in laughter. It felt good to get back at him without the camp knowing it was me.

I felt the pain in my heart, and body again. I walked up next to Light, before I passed I whispered,"I going back to the cabin, it hurts, more than last time."

She nodded in understanding, and so did Nico, since he was next to her. I walked off, and out of the corner in my eye, I saw Night look at me strangely. She was about to follow me when Light said,"Night, come on, it's your turn." They were starting a new drill.

Thank the Chaos Gods.

"Coming, Lady Light."

Then she walked off. I wonder what drill they will do. Oh well, whatever Light, and Shadow think is best.

I took down the barrier, walked in, then put the barrier up again. I took off my mask, with great effort, and breathed a sigh of relief. It was getting hard putting this mask on all the time, but I didn't want people to know who I was, so I kept it on.

I climbed into bed, but before I slept, I talked to Father.

Father, are you there?"

What is it?Are you hurt?

I wanted to tell you that I think I found out why my body hurts.

Really?Why does it hurt?

Well, in this dream I had I was hurt pretty badly, and you know how my head hurts, well this giant guy was wacking me in the head with his club, and my heart, there was an arrow through it. My legs and arms are also because of arrows. So I'm thinking that maybe the dream will come true, and the pain that I feel is coming into the reality.

Wow, how did you even figure that out?

I don't know, I just did.

I will check into that, and get back to you later, get some rest, son.

I will, bye.

Bye.

After the conversation, I laid down, and fell into a very deep sleep.
