Chapter 29

Night

I wonder why Perseus left. I wanted to follow him, but Light called me back for our new drill. We were supposed to swim to the bottom of the lake, and find a pearl, and bring it back, concentrate our energy into the pearl, and after the pearl turns ocean-blue we pass. 

I magically put on a bikini. I still had my mask on though. By the time I was ready, everybody else was already by the shore. All the girls were blushing really bad. Good thing Perseus wasn't here otherwise the girls would literally faint.

"You all ready?"Light asked.

"Totally, let's do this,"Ethan said.

"Start!"

We jumped into the lake, and swam. We could breathe underwater, thanks to Lord Chaos. It started to get darker the deeper I got. I swam, and swam. It probably took me about 45 minutes to get to the bottom. I stood on the bottom, and began searching. I searched under rocks, and corals. I found many shells, but none with a pearl in them. 

I cut my foot one to many times on rocks, or broken pieces of shells, or glass. Occasionally I saw a naiad, or a fish look at me strangely. I stepped on something else, but it didn't hurt, or make a cut. I bent down, and picked it up. It was a shell. I pried it open, and found a creamy-white pearl inside. I smiled. 

I kicked my feet, and sped upward. I reached the surface soon after. I hopped on shore. Ethan was already there.

"You're done already?"I asked.

"Yea, like 5 minutes ago, I can't put my energy into this thing,"he said, looking down at the pearl.

"You're fast, how long have you been trying?"

"Since I got back,"he said looking at the pearl in his hands.

I sat down cross-legged, next to him. I closed my eyes, and concentrated, hard. I heard someone approach me from behind. I opened my eyes, and turned my head. 

"Night, you just finished?"Nico asked.

I nodded.

"Everybody else is back too,"he said, and nodded in the direction of the lake. I turned, and saw that he was right.

"Hey, how did it go?"I asked.

"Fine, is it hard?"Luke said.

"Yes!"Ethan shouted.

"Well, time for me to try,"Calypso said, and sat down next to me.

I closed my eyes again, and concentrated harder this time. I concentrated on my energy moving towards my hands. My hands started to get warm. I wanted to open my eyes, but didn't want to risk losing the energy. My hands got hotter, and hotter.

I opened my eyes, and saw that the pearl was changing color, slowly. 

"Look, my pearl's changing color,"I exclaimed.

"Good job, almost there,"Light said.

I smiled, and closed my eyes again.My hands were getting hotter by the second. By the time my hands were oven hot. I opened my eyes, and saw that the pearl completely changed color, and was now ocean-blue.

"Great job, Night, you pass,"Nico said.

"Thank you, Lord Shadow.What is this exercise for?"I asked.

"Imagine the pearl your weapon. Your hand was getting hotter, right?"

I nodded.

"Well, in a battle, you have to be able to focus your energy into your weapon to become more effective, or else your attacks won't have as much effect. Here give me the pearl."

I handed him the pearl.He closed his eyes for half a second, and the pearl was already ocean-blue. 

"Now watch."

By that time, the others were watching too.He threw the pearl at a tree, and the pearl went through the tree, and the tree behind it.

"You have to be able to do that,"Thalia said.

"Wow."

"Sweet."

"I totally got this."

"I want to try,"I said.

I threw the pearl, it didn't go through the tree, but it left a little dent on the trunk. Nico went over to inspect the dent.

"Not very deep, but with practice,Night."

"Yes, Lord Shadow."

He took the pearl from the ground, and threw it into the lake.

"Now, find it, and come back to try it again."

I looked at him in shock, which I'm pretty sure is hard to tell since my mask was on.He nodded.I sighed, and jumped in the lake to find my pearl.

Finally done. I wanted to do a zoe chapter. this chapter doesn't really have any action but i wanted to show how they trained and all that.
