Xavi was woken out of her sleep by loud banging on her front door. She sat up with a frown, her eyes darting to her digital clock that sat on the nightstand beside her.
She didn't bother to go check the door, instead, she picked up her phone to see a few missed calls from her mother and father and some texts from her siblings.
Another loud bang was heard and Xavi rolled her eyes, getting out of bed. To her, she thought it was just the little boy that delivered the newspaper every morning so she wasn't sweating getting to the door in a hurry.
Although, the loud banging did alert her and she was ready to bust a cap in his ass for disturbing her beauty rest. She picked up her gun from the nearby table stand and walked to the door.
She looked through the peephole, seeing her brother Miles. She raised a brow at why he was there, but then, it ranged a bell. They had a family meeting at 9:00 and when she checked the time on her clock, it was 10:36.
Xavi unlocked all the locks, opening the door to see her brother. He was giving her an unsatisfied look. Xavi being late and him having to come and get her was nothing knew to him nor the rest of the family.
"Wassup?" Xavi asked with her hand on her hip. She was acting like she didn't know why he was there.
"Did you forget we had that family meeting at 9?" Miles asked pushing past her and walking in. He did his usual thing, going straight for the fridge. It was nothing new to Xavi so she let it slide like always.
"I forgot." Xavi said running her hands through her hair.
"You said that last week." Miles said looking up at her as he found himself an apple.
"What's the meeting about now? I need rest." Xavi said and Miles shrugged. He honestly didn't know because his parents always had something knew every time.
"Not sure but come on and get dressed so we can find out." He said and Xavi turned around, going inside her room. As Xavi got changed, Miles walked around.
His phone dinged with a text and his sisters name ran across the screen. He didn't read, nor text back. He just shut his phone off and walked to the huge window that was placed in the living room showing the whole city.
It was a good view, something not only Miles but Xavi could look at all day. Miles took a bite out of the apple when he heard Xavi clear her throat. He turned around and Xavi raised a brow at him.
"Next time, don't roam." Xavi said as she grabbed her keys off the counter and headed out the door with Miles behind her. As miles walked down the hall, she locked the door and caught up with him.
The two got on the elevator and they didn't say much to each other. It was a weird relationship between the two. Yeah they were brother and sister, closer then ever but honestly, it didn't seem like it.
