Alice:
Back when I was an actual hunter, we use to always kill the threat at hand. No second chances, no letting them walk away. It just causes too many problems if we would ever spare the life of a dangerous creature.
Which is why as I'm walking with the another deputy into the hospital because a raging psychopathic murderer got away, I can't help but feel that this is proof that killing someone like that was never a bad thing.
"Deputy Argent." I hear the Sherriff's voice call me from down the hall. I leave the other two deputies and walk over to him and Melissa.
"You see these dead flies everywhere?" Melissa asks. I nod my head not seeing what some annoying ass flies have anything of importance. "Well I was telling the Sheriff here that they came out of barrows tumor."
My face scrunches up in disgust, alright I could have lived my whole life without ever picturing that in my head. "I'm no doctor, but that sounds medically impossible." I pause and look around to make sure no one is near. "But not supernatural impossible that's for sure."
They both share worried glances before the Sheriff speaks again. "On the report Barrow claimed to have killed those teenager because of their glowing eyes."
I open and close my mouth before pinching the bridge of my nose. "Great. It's not like I, along with a few teens we know, fit that specific description."
They both look generally surprised at my revelation. What? I thought they already knew. "Wait aren't you just a hunter?" Melissa questions.
I move my head from side to side. "Technically I still am but I got bit so ya...tada." I'd shine my eyes for dramatic effect and all that jazz but I'm not so sure I can automatically turn it off.
"Wait, then that means you hunt yourself?" Sheriff says in a confused tone, making me roll my eyes.
"No. I don't hunt like that anymore I protect people now. And yes. I am a full blown beta now." I answer with the up most patience that I can muster. Which probably isn't all that much.
"Oh this is so confusing." Melissa lets out a sigh and I can't help but chuckle. She has no idea.
"Listen up, everyone. The stolen ambulance has been spotted. Corner of Truman and Spauldin." Agent McCall, aka Scotty boy's dad, aka the douche bag who's trying to get the Sheriff out of his job, calls out to all the police scattered around.
"That's three blocks from the school." Sheriff says urgently. "Let's go. Go!" He instructs making everyone rush towards the exits.
"Oh. Looks like the little detective is heading this way." I say under my breath as we turn another corner in the school. And right on que Stiles's sneaker come squeaking down the hall as he pushes past some of the other deputies to get to his dad.
We manage to clear out the entire school, only to find no signs of Barrow around. Someone called in at the station saying that they spotted him at the train station so almost all the law enforcement is leaving. Except for me and a few other deputies who are suppose to patrol around and make sure he doesn't come back.
I tried to pick up on his scent back at the hospital, but ya, werewolf performance issues here, even if I have an alpha now. God that sounds kinky as hell.
"Alice! Alice, Alice!" I turn around in the hall that I was walking down to see Stiles skidding down my way. The kid looks about two steps from passing out on the floor.
"Stiles, Stiles, Stiles! I mimic in a more annoyed tone. He ignores me and instead takes a good minute catching his breath, and even then he's still panting wildly.
