By your window is a cage.
Inside this cage is a little bird.
You love her dearly.
This little bird made its way to your window one stormy day.
Of course, you took in this little bird.
She's yellow with a smidge of brown.
To you, she's beautiful.
She's a beautiful, fragile creature.
You keep her in a cage you found and took care of her.
The cage fits her.
That was what you once thought.
Now, you realize she isn't happy.
She is trapped because of this cage.
She doesn't belong here.
The forests are calling her.
You want to keep her, but you know it isn't right.
It's selfish.
You wonder if you should let her go.
As you stare at her, you come closer and closer to making a decision.
You let her go.
Your heart breaks as her heart soars.
The little bird is free.
