Chapter 42

Elizabeth smiled as she caught sight of the rest of their group just as dressy as the girls were.  Addison looked lovely in a dress that most resembled a ball gown.  It was a long flowy taffeta number in a two tone of peach and dusty rose that brought out the pregnant glow her skin naturally had.  The skirt fell in a multitude of pleats since it too had an empire waistline.  This was due more to accommodate her swollen belly then for a youthful look.  Satin peach ballet flats peaked out from under the floating material as she walked making her look lovely and comfortable.  Much like Elizabeth had Addison choose to let her dirty blonde locks flow down her back pinned back only at the sides.  Her makeup was minimal but with the glow she really didn't need it and she opted out of wearing any jewelry other then her wedding ring set.

Nell was a goddess in a dark red satin dress with a mullet hemline and a sweetheart neckline accenting her abundance of cleavage.  Her light brown locks were pulled back in a sparkling banana clip leaving the wild natural curls of the caramel colored do to fall freely down her back.  She had a smokey eye makeup and dark red lips.  She too had opted for a simple silver necklace with a garnet gem that nestled just above her cleavage and her wedding band set were the only jewelry pieces she had on.  She had ruby red kitten heels on her feet to complete the whole outfit.  Out of all the girls in the group, even though Nell wasn't the fittest among them, she was definitely the sexiest one there.

Jan let out a low whistle as they took in the guys in the group.  Instantly the girls were jealous with how effortlessly G.Q. each one looked.  Each of them wore black slacks and shiny black shoes paired with white shirts that were untucked and some of them even had the sleeves rolled up.  The top buttons of the shirts were undone and the ones that wore regular ties had them pulled loose around the neck.  The ones that had bow ties left them draped untied and had matching undone vests.  The rest didn't have ties, but they too wore vests.  Each of them wore something that matched the dress of the corresponding girl they were paired with.  Whether it was a tie or the vest, Elliot being the only exception to the color scheme.  He wore dove grey slacks with a peach button up shirt that was untucked and rolled up.  While the guys looked dashing enough, they also resembled a group at a wedding reception after the drinks had started flowing and things had loosened up.  Elizabeth almost joined Courtney in her quest to take out Roy for making all the girls dress up a lot more then the guys until she caught Ryan's heated gaze from across the lobby.  He strode across the room towards her causing her heart to ratchet up a few beats.  His hair was styled much the same way as it had been in the after shower picture he had sent her.  He was one of the ones that had the untied bow tie in the same blue green color as her dress.  His black satin vest puffed open as his strides ate up the floor putting him in front of her faster than any of the other guys that were walking over to pick up their dates.  He picked up her limp hand in his strong one placing a gentle kiss upon the back before tucking it in the crook of his arm leading her into the resort's restaurant.

Elizabeth chuckled as she watched Roy effortlessly stay just out of Courtney's reach leading her on a merry chase into the restaurant as well without her realizing.  When they got to the table that Roy had reserved, he was standing next to the chair waiting for Courtney to seat herself.  She finally relented with a huff stomping over and plopping herself down ungracefully.  The beads of her dress clacked against the wood of the chair. The two of them did a weird little push and pull as Courtney tried to pull herself up to the table and Roy tried to scoot her chair in for her like a proper gentleman.  All of them watched the odd show the two of them were putting on as they each sat at the large round table.

Elizabeth glanced around the dinning area noting that their party was way overdressed for the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant.  The other patrons were all wearing light weight beach clothing and flip flops.  Their group was quickly becoming the spectacle that everyone else was watching as well.  Elizabeth turned her attention back to the others around her own table looking at each matching couple around her.  Her gaze stopped on Jenny watching the young woman send jealous looks Jan's way only to be interrupted by the attention of her own surprise date.  Elizabeth smiled and gave a little wave at Dan when he looked over returning her smile with one of his own.  He looked between her and Ryan before giving her a little teasing wiggle of his eyebrows before turning his attention back to his date.  Jenny blushed a light shade of pink under his attention.  It looked to be a promising pairing but then again, they could always meet other people in life too.  Dan after all was a successful chef and prominent business owner so he met people all the time.  Jenny was set to start nursing school in the fall and might meet someone there that would catch her eye.  While Elizabeth would like to see the two become a couple it could go another way as well.  Only time would tell, and they would all have to see if they progressed that way or not.  As Elizabeth looked around the table, she noticed that she wasn't the only one keeping an eye on the couple.
