"Where do you want to go? I'll see you in instant.""To the place where we first drank."
"What happened to the Bohemian garden?" He spoke quietly.
The rooftop that was once filled with comfy boho-styled pillows, blankets and contrasting plants is now just... a flat area with dark blue double air mattress. As they wend at the anterior of the mattress, Jungkook diligently examined her.
Her unusually distended eyes— she surely cried.
Sana flumped herself at the air cushion, bending her knees lifting it towards her chest, hugging it. Jungkook suppressed a vast sigh before doing the same, descrying her from time to time as she just eye gazed with the cold ground, her cheeks dug to her knees.
"How have you been lately?" He spoke, deadening the meagerness of sounds. In a trice, he inwardly let out obscenities mentally for asking such clear-cut questions.
"You've been crying again?" Jungkook whispered gingerly, kneading his bottom lip using his thumb. Him not having any answers from her as she just sat still. Not moving a muscle.
No response.
"I can't possibly take you to Pyeongchang or Lotte World this late at night..." Scratching the back of his neck, he kept stealing glimpses from her. "Are you okay?"
"You're obviously not. Don't you ever think of jumping at that river again." He upheld, using his index finger to point down the direction of the Han River wherein they first met. "I don't know... how you've been. I'm sorry I wasn't able to spend some time with you these days."
"Should I buy Soju so we could drink? I'll make it up to you."
"Ah, Dongdaemun Market is still open. Should we go there and eat lots of food? My treat-"
"Minatozaki."
Taken aback by her sudden words, he became flummoxed and at sea. "What..?"
Sana gandered at him, ahead of continuing her words. "M.. Minatozaki is... is my surname."
Taking exasperated sighs, she deposited herself— letting her back fall at the soft mattress. The field of luminous ball of glasses scattered around everywhere like punctuation marks blazing the night sky... resembling the starry night drank her perspective.
"In Japan.. The father is always expected to be the breadwinner and receive utmost respect from his family. The mother and children should facilitate his home-life needs as much as possible. Mothers also devote their time to domestic duties and raising children."
"But we were so different.."
"I've always had the overwhelming urge to run away.." She stopped.
Tears glistened in her eyes, coruscating everything as the stars threw back at them. "I was... from an affluent family. My mom is an actress, my dad is a businessman. They're both well-known. Everything was fun. Typical.. toddler years.. My mom reading a book for me to fall asleep, my dad chasing me around the barn.. raising horses."
"One day, I was asked to get ready... for a photoshoot. I thought so too it was for a family picture. We were laughing and doing crazy poses there. It was the most fun I've ever had."
