Jungkook's footsteps echoed eerily covering the expanse of his opulent unit. He shut the wooden door in a dap-dashed manner. The rain hasn't stopped serenading the roof and steady drumming on the windows. He never really liked the rain, it makes everything look gloomy but now it matches his mood."Jungkook?" Hoseok called.
"Jungkook?"
"Jungkook-"
"-Oh, Hyung... You're here.." He passed his tongue to his bottom lip and removed his jacket, placing it over the couch. "Been calling you for good 10 minutes already." Hoseok said while typing at a high speed.
"Sorry." Jungkook mumbled indistinctly. "I'll... go ahead now, I'll sleep." He pointed out the hallway towards the stairs up to the second floor.
"No, no, no." Hoseok taunted in English. "Sit down."
"What-"
"Sit down. Right here. Here."
"Did I do something wrong?" He whispered to himself and sat on the other side of the couch.
"You are like the weather this day. All gloomy. Answer me. What's going on in your mind lately?" He denoted, speaking as if he's reading a piece of poem.
"The coming exam?" Jungkook answered. "Our exam would be tomorrow. It will be uh, for four days. Then at Friday, it's going to be the opening for the Sports Festival—"
"It's about Kyuhyun, isn't it?"
Jungkook gazed at him, leaving him dumbfounded and speechless. "How did you.."
"Oh.. about that." He crossed his legs together and took his cup of tea, sipping on it. "I saw him earlier at the campus."
Jungkook nodded, understanding every word coming from Hoseok's mouth.
"He's gotten all tall and more... good-looking I'd say, but has he sharpened his brain yet?" He rolled his eyes. "Don't let him affect you again. Just let him be. Theoretically, no one's actually happy with him coming back. Except for Yerin, I guess. Her so called shit-brother." Hoseok spat his words like a venom, permeated with derision and irony.
"Hyung, you know I don't care about that anymore. I'm not mad that he's back. In my eyes, I'm... actually glad. I missed him too."
"You have every right to be angry-"
"Hyung, no. Please. You know-"
"-Yes, I know. I know you are not that kind of person and doesn't even hold an ounce of grudge. I know. But please, Jungkook. Don't let people take advantage of your kindness. Sometimes you don't need to be too kind in this terrestrial planet filled with terrible, terrible people."
Jungkook pressed his lips together, standing up from the couch and leaned down to peck Hoseok's forehead. "I'll review. Good night, Hyung. I love you."
Hoseok is there. From the start. He practically raised him and watched him as he grew. Jungkook matured more during the past few years. It really is amazing how puberty hit him like a truck yet nothing made his personality change even after years away from his friends and family.
