......
" He what!" she shrieked through the phone. I had to remove it from my ear. I breathed a sigh of frustration and rubbed my tired eyes."For the umpteenth time Jacie, Jayden Weber came to my house and I didn't expect it" I spoke.
It was awkward that I already had a not so friendly conversation with him in school, but it was more awkward seeing him at my house unexpectedly. Mum was surprised that we knew each other.
Why does the universe hate me so much! Why did he have to come! Well......
After some boring small talks, all the dimpled smiling with my mum and everything ,he excused himself to go after reading a notification from his phone . It irked him up a little, to be honest, I wanted to know who it was. Before jayden finally took his leave, mum just literally had to stuff some of her baked cookies she made in his mouth.
I didn't even know she made those!
I had the serious urge to use the restroom and by the time I was back, Jayden had already gone and I was left disappointed. I had wanted to see him off, but it looks like today is not just my day.
I had wanted to help mum in the kitchen for dinner but she sent me upstairs, telling me to go freshen up. Alex and dad hadn't come at that time and I was wondering if they were stuck in a hold up. I already climbed two stairs when my eye caught something.
The hoodie.
No he didn't
I told him not to.
I retreated back and took the hoodie from where it was laying on the arm rest of the couch. A smile had crawled up my face as I held it in my arms, inhaling his scent.
"I cannot believe it "she gasped " he's so hot, I mean have you seen his hair? ."
I know right
"You just have to believe it girl, and do you know what he did before he left!" I exclaimed and rolled on my tummy on the cool bed so that I was more comfortable.
"No, no tell me!". I could just imagine her smiling widely right now. For a long victim of bullying , she was sure still really hyped.
I chuckled, "He left his hoodie, the one he borrowed me at first when blondie you know.. "
I could hear statics and sound of movement now, and I checked my phone screen to see if she was still on the line. She still was, but she wasn't speaking. I got confused and wanted to hang up but she spoke again.
"Sorry, Amanda had called me" she said in a bored tone. I rolled my eyes. "So what were you saying? " she asked.
I internally groaned at the stress of repeating myself. I was that lazy. "I said that Jayden left his hoodie for me when I went to the restroom. I'm sure it was his plan all along to give me back after I told him not to."
Jacie knew about the closet incident because I told her during lunch as I promised. Yes I keep my promises.
"Wow, I don't know what to say. I mean he hardly talks to anyone apart from his group friends, the jerkish group. But even at that, I don't think he is really that close to them. Sometimes he's usually on his own. Lonely." she stopped and sighed "But if he's looking for ways to talk to you and even giving you his hoodie, I think.... " she trailed off.
"What?" I asked.
"Oh, nothing. I'm just thinking"
"That what?" I asked again, curious.
