-MAXS POV-
They way Summer acts, her confidence, her smile, the way she can't look me in the eyes without opening her mouth, it just makes me go crazy!!!
The smile thats on my face when I fall asleep can only be done by her.
But I'm not so good at the asking out part. So of course I had to make it a freaking bet. She probably thinks I'm a total asshole know.
I walk away and drop my head. Why didn't I just ask her to go out with me?!
"Hey Max" Kat smiles "Is Sum in the kitchen?"
I nod "sure is" I smile back and walk back upstairs.
"Summer!!" She yells as she walks to the kitchen
"What!" Summer whines
"Did you say yes?" Kat asks, so now I'm ears dropping, crap.
"I'm still scared, can we give it a day or two?" Summer asks cautiously.
"Scared about what?" Kat urges. Yes, scared about what!?
"We already talked about this, twice, me getting heart broken, I can't get heart broken by someone I genuinely have feelings for" Summer explains and my heart explodes into tiny butterflies.
The microwave beeps and I walk up stairs.
"Wow" I whisper as I shut the door. She thinks I'm a heartbreaker?
Wait wait wait. She likes me?
Wait wait wait. SHE LIKES ME BACK?!
'She likes me back!' I just had to tell him.
'Who?' He texted back
'Summer man!'
'Oh cool!' Seriously?!
'This is excellent'
'Whatever floats your boat bro'
'Bye'
'Ya' OMG SHE LIKES ME BACK!!!!! Now all I need to do is convince her that I'm not a heartbreaker.
I need to convince her that I'm in love with her. And that means pulling the bet off.
I lay on my bed, going through scenarios. What if she still says no?!
Soon sleep takes over.
"Max? Sweetheart? Dinners ready" a knock on the door awakens me.
"Thanks mum" I say and wipe my face.
"I didn't wake you did I?" She asks
"It's alright" I say and get off of the bed.
"Sorry sweetheart" mum says as I open the door.
"It's really okay, I'm actually quite hungry" I say.
"Oh good, it's lasagna" she smiles and walks down with me.
"Yum" I groan and she smiles.
"Chad cooked it, he actually cooks lasagna really well" Mum nods.
"I can't wait" I say with a smile.
"You feel welcome here, right?" Mum asks. I nod and crinkle my forehead gently.
"Yer of course!" I say and she smiles widely.
"Okay that's really good!" Mum runs her hands together.
"This smells amazing!" Lilly over exaggerates, but in a way I agree.
"You like lasagna?" Chad smiles at her, plating up the dish.
"I love it this much!" She stretches her arms out as far as they could go.
We all slightly laugh but I can tell we are all internally cooing.
We finish eating, Summer and I are both being really quiet.
"You okay darling?" Mum asks Summer. She smiles fakly and nods.
"I just feel like I forgot something" she says.
"Does your mum know you're here?" Mum asks.
"Oh no, she doesn't know I stayed for dinner, please excuse me" I say getting up from the table and running upstairs.
"This food was amazing, I feel really tired though, goodnight" I smile at everyone and Kat squints her eyes at me but I softly shake my head, no one seems to notice.
I walk up stairs. "Summer" I knock on the door.
"What" she says rudely but I shake it off.
"Have you come up with a decision?" I smirk. It's the only way I could think of asking her out without it being rude...which I totally failed at.
"The thing is that I don't think I would actually mind the whole school knowing about me" she shrugs and I mentally curse.
"Why's that?" I ask slyly.
"Well maybe I'll get praised because of it" she half smiles and checks her phone. "Crap!" She whispers.
"You okay?" I ask.
"I need to go, bye Max" she says.
"Bye" I hear Kat say and I hear the front door shut.
"Dammit" I bang my head on the door frame.
"I know your secret" Kat says and I face her standing at the top of the stairs, her hands in her pockets.
"What secret, I have plenty" I say.
"You like her, legitimately" She says.
'crap she does!' I mentally whine.
"What makes you think that?" I try to cover up, but my voice shaking is a huge give away.
"The way you look into her eyes. The way you cursed after she left. The way you keep trying to be around her. The way you act so calm and cool around her but I her your voice squeak once you walk away. The way-" I've heard enough.
"Okay okay!" I raise my hands in surrender.
"She likes you too, but you have to prove that you aren't a jerk and that you actually care" Kat explains.
"And I do that... how?" I question.
"That's your choice, I don't know" she says "but pulling off the black mail could be a start" Kat shrugs.
"No way. Even if I do love her I'm not pulling off the black mail, I have a reputation to maintain."
