-MAXS POV-
I lay down and I hear Summers car drive away but I just can't sleep. The awkwardness in this conversation, its horrifying.
Okay that was exaggeration but on a more serious note, I need her! I haven't slept in three days because I keep thinking about her, that's probably why I'm sick. She's my sickness but I don't want it to go away. She keeps me going, the thought of her gets me up in the morning.
I'll call her.
Wait what?!
My head is so messed up!
But it's not, it's completely genius! I'll call her and we can talk for hours!
No wait until everyone is asleep.
"Max, honey we're home" Mum yells and I hear rustling plastic bags, the dangling of keys and tin cans hitting the furniture.
"I'm up-" I clear my throat "I'm up here" I still lay on my bed, my stomach churning at the thought of Summer and my eyes closed.
"She's so beautiful" I whisper.
"Who is?" Kat asks and my body jerks up on my bed like the little robot kid from Monsters Inc.
"Summer" I groan and falling back, my whole bed wiggles, I wipe my nose with my arm.
"Now what stupid plan do you have? You too are really bad at-" she stops "never mind" she sighs after a pause.
"Calling her and having a friendly chat" I mumble followed by a small sniffle.
"You can do what Uncle Troy did?" Kat sits on the side of my bed and passes me a cough drop.
"What'd he do?" I ask curious.
"It worked a charm apparently, well they're married now so it must've" she rambles on.
"Kat" I snap and she stops going on.
"Sorry, he made a pizza and chocolate covered strawberries, put them in a basket and Aunty Gabriella and him had a little picnic in her room. He climbed a tree and they pulled the basket up on a rope." She chuckles.
"What about I take a pizza, a bag of marshmallows and a movie? We can watch it in her room and it would be fun" I smile enthusiastically then sniffle.
"Great idea, except that she hates Marshmallows" Kat says bluntly.
"Popcorn"
"Can't handle them"
"Ice Cream"
"It'll melt"
"Well then what do you suggest" I get agitated.
"Pods, get a big bag of Mars Pods" She smiles and I shrug. "It's her favourite movie snack" Kat says.
"Alright, can you come down to the 7-11 with me and help me pick a movie?" I ask and I sniffle loudly.
"Have a cough drop and I'll go get you a lemon and honey water, then we'll go" she reasons and I nod in agreement.
"Fine" I shake her hand and she walks out "oh my gosh what am I going to say" I whisper worriedly.
-Summers POV-
"Sweet heart, I just got a call from your Aunty saying that her son just passed away from cancer" Mum says, her baby bump starting to show a little now.
"That's awful" I gush with a sympathetic smile.
"So I'm flying down to Australia for the funeral tonight and I'll be back in a few days.
"What about the baby?" I ask.
"Lucky for me I'm not that far into the pregnancy yet" Mum smiles and she's having trouble pulling her tiny business trip suite case out from her room.
"Mum let me help" There's a little step from her room to the hallway and the doors stuck in an awkward position.
"Here" I lift the suite case softly out of the room and into the hallway.
"You're one in a million, sweet heart" she kisses my forehead and makes her way down the stairs.
"Love you" I yell after her and walk back into my room and slump onto my bed.
-Max's POV-
"Daddy Day Care?" I ask for the third time.
"She hates those weird movies" Kat also says for the third time.
"Shark Tale?" I ask assured that this is the one.
"Yeah, what the heck" Kat shrugs and chucks me a smile.
"Sweet" I grab the movie off the stand and go to the check out with my bag of Pods and my movie.
"That will be $33:50 thanks" OH MY GOSH THESE PLACES ARE SO EXPENSIVE!
Kat and I exchange looks and I grab out a $50 from my wallet.
"Here" I pass him the note and he puts the money into the machine, hits some money and gives me my change.
"Don't be a dick head, don't talk about Danielle unless you want to pull the plan off and don't make too much noise."
"Why are you so worried?" I ask driving, the smell of pizza filling my car.
"I don't know, I just feel like something bad is going to happen" Kat says quietly staring out the window.
