Mia's POV

"Mia, hey how was the concert?" My best friend, Pearl, says hugging me. "The best. It was so inspiring," I gush. She smiles, "Did you give them the CD?" I nod, "Uh huh. I gave it to Alan just before Josh and I left." She replies, "They're gonna love it."

"You think they actually listened to it?" I ask. She nods, "Positive." I shake my hands in front of my face, "Woah, how can you be so sure?"

"Turn around," she says. I turn around, and standing in my high school hallway is Alan.

"Alan?" I ask unsure of why he's here. "Hey Mia, so glad to see you again," he says holding his arms out. Despite the stares, I hug him, for a long time.

The bell rings, and we're forced apart. "I'm gonna talk to your parents of course, but after school we should go to Chick-Fil-A," he says. I smile, "Okay. I'll give you my step-dad's phone number." I jot Josh's number down and hand it to Alan. The second bell rings, and I race to class.

Alan's POV

I leave the school, and get into my car. I dial Mia's step-dad's number. He answers on the third ring, "Hello?

"Hi, yes, you are Mia's step-dad, right?" I ask making sure I have the right number. "Yes. Do I know you?" He asks unsure.

"This is Alan, from Anthem Lights," I explain. "Oh hey! How did you even get my number?" He asks, again unsure. "Mia gave it to me. Anyways, I listened to her CD, and I want to talk to her. Can I take her to Chick-Fil-A after school?" I ask.

"Sure, it'll be good for her," he says. "Okay, I can bring her home after," I tell him. "That'll be great! Thank you so much," Josh says. "No problem," I chuckle, and hang up.

I text the rest if they guys to tell them the news, then pull out of the parking lot. I drive to the hotel we're staying at, and go up to the room.

Somehow, I forgot my key card, so I bang on the door. "Open up Chad!" I exclaim. Seconds later Caleb opens the door.

I walk inside, "Guys I wanna talk to you all," I announce. We all gather around the beds.

"I'm picking Mia up after school, and we're going to Chick-Fil-A. I want you guys to be there. Then, after we're done talking I have to take her home," I tell them. "A Chick-Fil-A invitation? Oh boy!" Joey says, excitedly. "Yay! CHICKEN IS MY TRUE LOVE!" Chad says, a bit too loudly.

We watch a bit of TV, and go over some songs. Then I realize I have to go get Mia. "Caleb! You're in charge!" I exclaim, racing to my car.

I drive to the school, and see Mia waiting. "Hey Alan," she says, grinning. I greet her, as I pop my trunk. She tosses me her book bag, and I put it back there. I close it, and rush to open her door.

"M'lady," I say, flashing a cooky grin. She giggles, and climbs into my car. I play the Covers III CD, as I drive. Mia sings, and dances along, I even join in.

We arrive at Chick-Fil-A, and Mia runs inside. I race after her and we get in line. "So, how are you doing?" I ask her. "Good, could be better though," she says, sighing.

"What's wrong, Mia?" I ask, touching her arm. "I don't know, just my life is crashing down, I want to pick up the pieces but I can't," she says softly.

We order our food, and sit down. God give me wisdom, I silently pray.

"Mia. I was once at a tough time too. Trust God, when everything else fails, trust God. He will NEVER let you down, and he'll ALWAYS be there for you. He has plans for you, and he doesn't want you to give up. Just trust Him," I say.

Mia wipes away a few tears, "Thanks Alan, you're the best," she says, coming over to hug me. "Anytime, kiddo, anytime!" I exclaim.
