EVANGELINE

I took a deep breath and let it out again as Hazel placed the veil in my hair, smiling. She looked beautiful in the shimmering maid of honor dressed we had picked out and her eyes gleamed of pure happiness for me. "Are you ready?" She asked.

I chuckled and nodded. "Absolutely."

She helped me maneuver down the hallway to the ceremony space-nothing extravagant just a small place for the few people in our lives that really mattered.  Needless to say, we didn't invite Beckett's father and we for sure didn't invite Brittney. Even though we were already married, I felt surprisingly very nervous. Hazel spread my train and gave me a wink before she walked through the doors before me with Alex. I waited a few minutes to give them time to walk, but also to find the right breathing pattern. I did this drunk off my ass a year ago, I can do it sober. I broke through the doors and looked into the eyes of my husband who was eyeing me up and down with a huge smile on his face.

"Beautiful," he mouthed.

I smiled and made my way to him as fast as I could without tripping on myself. Beck grasped my hands tight and held them through the whole ceremony. Honestly, I didn't hear anything the minister said; I was lost in Beck's eyes-his smile. We exchanged our vows and slid new rings onto each other's fingers and without a second thought, 'I do's were said. Beck rested one hand on my waist and the other on my cheek. He pulled me to him and his lips attacked mine in a furious passion. When we pulled away I laughed squeezed his hand as we exited towards the reception area. We waited in the lounge while everyone got seated and I wasn't going to lie and say we weren't making out...we were..we definitely were. When it was time for our big entrance together, the wedding party lined up and I looped my arm through Beck's. "I'm glad we'll remember it this time." I told him. One couple went in.

He smiled, "Well, the ceremony anyway." We laughed and the next couple went; we were next. "Here's to starting over. How do you feel?"

"Good! Really good actually."

He kissed my forehead. "Good. No running off this time?"

"No running off this time," I confirmed. "This time, I'm okay with what happened in Vegas NOT staying in Vegas."

"Then let's go everywhere; anywhere you want!"

Excitement filled me; a vacation sounded amazing! "New Mexico?!"

He sighed. "Out of all of the places in the world, you pick New Mexico..."

....

We did go to New Mexico and I was vey disappointed that there were no UFO sightings while we were there. We went to every state in the U.S before taking a break back in Oregon to hunker down on some work. Traveling got my creative juices flowing and I wrote two best-selling books in the same year while Beckett was able to score several different properties to build apartment complexes on. All in all-married life's not bad and I've learned my lesson: sometimes what happens in Vegas shouldn't always stay in Vegas.
