EVANGELINEI was perspiring heavily. There was some major under-boob sweat going on and I was a nervous wreck. I got closer and closer to Beckett's room, debating whether I should use the key he gave me or knock. He gave me a key, so he wants me to use it, right? Fuck it, I'm using the key. I slid the key card into the slot and opened the door, immediately greeted with rose petals and soft lighting. I bent down and took one petal in my hand, funning it through my fingers-it's real! On the outside of the pedal path were electric candles to provide a little bit of light onto the path that I followed to a door covered in fairy lights.
"Beck?" I pulled back the lights and entered the bedroom. Candles outlined the room and petals were spread all through the floor.
"Hey, Angel."
I turned and there he was in a suit, his hands in his pockets and his hair a bit tousled from running his fingers through it. I tensed and fiddled with my fingers, standing awkwardly in front of the bed. "Hi."
He stepped forward and gave me a small smile. "I'm glad you came tonight, I'd hoped you would."
"So you knew that I'd come right away?"
"I wanted you to...I thought that if you came now that meant that you still love me, so I wanted to be ready."
We both opened our mouths at the same time to speak. "Listen,-" we smiled and I twisted my fingers together.
"If you don't mind, I'd like to go first," I said.
"Sure."
"I've played what happened that day over and over in my head and now I see all the things I did wrong; I should've waited to talk to you and hear what you had to say. In fact, I shouldn't have run out like that at all I was just so upset and I wasn't thinking clearly. I'm so sorry."
Beckett approached me and took my hands in his. "I should've ran after you and I never should have let you leave. I love you and I want you to come home please."
I sighed and lightly squeezed his hands. "I like California, but I want to be here."
His face fell. "Oh..."
"Here with you, Beckett," I laughed.
His eyes lit up and he took me in his arms, pressing his lips to mine. I threw my arms around him and deepened the kiss; I wanted him to know just how much I loved him. Every minute without him had been utter hell and I knew he felt the same way; his kiss was just as fiery as I had hoped, telling me everything I need to know. We pulled apart and I rested my forehead against his, taking in a deep breath. He brushed his lips across mine so gently I almost didn't feel anything. "We can stay wherever you want; as long as we're together I don't care."
I pulled back a little to look him in the eyes. "Really?"
"Really, Angel."
"You know what I hear the best thing in the world is?"
Beckett thinks for a moment and takes a wild guess, "Having an astonishingly handsome husband?"
I laughed and rolled my eyes. "Yes, but no."
"Okay what do you hear is the best thing in the world?"
I slid my hands to his shoulders, squeezing slightly while looking into his gorgeous eyes. "Make-up sex."
He chuckled and kissed my jaw. "I guess we better try out that theory then, huh?"
Before I knew it, all clothes were removed from our bodies and Beckett was on top of me in bed. His arms were on each side of my head and he leaned down to give me a lingering kiss that spelled out everything he had been wanting to say for a month. I spread my legs and fitted them to his waist, holding tight for what was to come. I sighed as he slid in slow, resting his forehead on mine. "I missed you," I whispered, grazing my lips over his.
"I missed you more," he smiled, giving me a long kiss as he slid into me all the way. We stayed like that for just a little bit longer, enjoying the feeling of each other's skin before he started to move.
"Be easy with me," I chuckled, "It's been a while."
"Of course, baby."
And he did. Instead of a quick, passionate fuck, Beckett made love to me gently as he kissed all over my face. His thrusts were slow and his touch was soft throughout the night and all into the morning as well. We would fall asleep after every round, but wake up and immediately want each other just as bad as the time before.
We woke up to the sun streaming through the thin slit of the thick curtains on our faces. I sat up and stretched, looking down at the standard alarm clock on the night stand: 9 AM. Beckett stirred next to me, reaching our his arm to find some part of me to hold on to. His hand gripped my thigh and I smiled, caressing the veins that popped out on his large hands. I heard him groan before he too sat up and stretched, rubbing his eyes.
"So," I started, "what do we do now?"
