I figured the perfect time to discuss “us” with Liam was at the beach the next day while all the boys would be playing in the water and Danielle would be relaxing. I took the opportunity to talk to him once he got out of the water and was about to begin a game of beach football with

Louis.

I would usually be hanging out with Zayn, but he saw some girl and had to excuse himself. By the way they were talking, I knew it had to be the girl from the hotel room. I can’t blame Zayn for wanting her. She had long brown locks with natural loose curls. Her blue eyes glistened in the sunlight and she had a perfect figure. Anybody off the street would probably assume she was a model. Zayn looked over at me as the girl was fixing her hair and stuck his tongue out at me and thrusted a little bit. Yep, this was definitely the one. I wonder what they had to talk about though.

As I was approaching Liam, somebody got in my way. Somebody with sexy brown hair and an amazing athletic body. It was Frankie!

“Hi, Jordin,” he said holding a football in his hand. “Louis, Liam, and I are about to play a game and they teamed up. Would you please be on my team?” He gave me a puppy-dog face. He was so cute!

“I haven’t played in years,” I said as I bit my lower lip and looked up at him.

“No problem, I’ll teach you again.” Was he flirting? Yes, he most definitely was.

I looked away from Frankie for half a second and noticed Liam out of the corner of my eye. He didn’t look happy. Before I knew it, he was running up to me and grabbing my arm. “Excuse me, Franklin!” He yelled. He dragged me to the upper part of the beach where nobody could see us and sighed trying to talk.

“What’s up?” I asked him, almost being a tease.

“Stop, you know how I feel about you. Why are you flirting with Frankie? He’s such a tool.”

“That’s mean, Liam. I think he’s an okay guy.”

“Alright, that’s not the point. The point is you told me how you felt and so did I, yet you continue to flirt with every other guy in this city!”

“It’s really not that big of a deal, don’t be dramatic.”

“But this is important to me, Jordin!”

“What is? Last time I checked I don’t have a boyfr-” I had more to say but Liam’s soft lips made me forget all about it. We kissed and kissed and kissed and kissed and kissed. He grabbed me around my waist and continued to make out with me. It was honestly some of the best kissing I had ever participated in. When we finally finished, I looked up into his eyes hungry for more. I giggled. He sighed.

“I’m so sorry, beautiful, but this can’t happen anymore.”

My jaw dropped. Was he for real? “Liam, you kissed me!”

He opened his mouth to continue the argument but then realized I was right. He huffed. “I know. You’re right, it’s all my fault,” he inhaled deeply. “So I think it’s about time I got out of here.”

“You have me spinning in circles! Do you want to be with me or not? Make up your mind!”

“I don’t know, Jordin. I don’t know! I have something really special with Danielle and I’d be a fool if I let her go.”

I bit my thumb nail and turned around so I was facing towards the ocean and away from Liam. My eyes watered up. I couldn’t let him see me cry so I sucked it up.

“Don’t cry please,” he whispered. “I have to leave now. Can I have a good-bye hug please?”

For some odd reason I gave him a hug and let him go.

“It was nice seeing you.” I think he said. I wasn’t really sure. I was so overwhelmed with emotions. Through my teary eyes I watched him walk away with Danielle trailing behind. This was the end, or so I thought.

A few hours later, Zayn found me at the hotel sitting on my bed and listening to Adele, whom I was a huge fan of.

“Oh there you are, I thought we’d have to host a mass search party for you again,” he joked. I didn’t look up. “Hey, are you alright?”

I poured my heart out to Zayn in between sobs and deep breaths. I explained to him all that Liam and I had shared with each other and every detail about what went down this whole week. Zayn was silent afterwards. I shivered uncomfortably.

“Go get him,” was all he said.

“What?” I asked.

“Tell him to stay. I’ll come with you. A girl like you can’t be alone.” He gave me a bear hug. I felt secure in his arms and was suddenly becoming optimistic about this little plan.

Once we arrived at the airport, Zayn allowed me to go off to Liam and Danielle’s flight gate while he got a coffee. I must have looked like a hot mess to everyone in that airport. My hair was a mess, my cheeks were pink and puffy, and I was running as if my life depended on it. Which, I suppose, it almost did.

I recognized Danielle’s suitcase first. When I looked up at the woman carrying it, there she was. There he was. I smiled out of relief. I made it! I could tell them to stay! Danielle looked confused and worried while she was looking at Liam’s face. He had a nervous yet confident façade. He got down on one knee and pulled out a ring. Liam proposed to Danielle in an airport in Mexico! That’ll be a great story to tell their kids. I saw Danielle put on the ring and jump into Liam’s arms giving him several passionate kisses. Everyone around them clapped.

“I’m getting married!” Liam yelled. More applause.

My vision all of a sudden became blurry. Crocodile tears streamed down my face. I could have sworn on anything Liam saw me standing there looking like a fool. I ran back to find Zayn.

“How’d it go?” He asked me, sipping his blonde roast.

“Liam is getting married.”
