Knee Socks- Arctic Monkeys
“Casper? Are you joking?”
Caspian looked offended at Sanya's tone, “It was a compromise- no Caspian the 11th, thank you very much- and it’s a nice name. I don’t know why you look like you’re about to throw up.”
“Oh no, dear adopted brother, I’m not about to vomit.” Sanya assured him, though it was difficult to speak in her immense amusement. “I’m about to laugh so hard all of you go deaf.”
Caspian looked at Peter, “Decipher your fiancée.”
The High King shrugged, “That’s beyond my abilities.”
Sanya rolled her eyes, “Casper is the name of-”
“Can you people shush?” Susan asked, sweaty and tired but smiling at the tiny bundle in her arms. Caspian had been forbidden from getting within five feet of her, so it was Lucy and Lilliandil standing next to her, with Rillian tucked in between Sanya and Edmund at the foot of her bed. “You want to see your brother, Rilly?”
Rilly nodded and shifted towards her, but looked nervous. He’d seen the creature moments after it had come out, and it was all bloody and dirty and it had scared him. Now, however- he just looked cute.
“He got your eyes, Ma!”Susan beamed- little Casper indeed did have her silvery-blue eyes. She assumed he’d have dark hair like his brother and parents as well, but at the moment, he didn’t seem to have any hair at all.
“He does. You have your papa's eyes and he has mine.”“I wonder if the next child will have one blue eye and one black, then.” Edmund whispered to Sanya, who had to control her laughter even harder. “Also, wasn’t Casper the name of that sweet ghost in those cartoons you showed me back when you first came?”
She nodded, biting her lip to not burst into a cackle. It was all too amusing. Casper, a Prince, and Casper, the Friendly Ghost.
“Well, that’s hilarious.”
“I know.” She managed, her eyes flicking to his, mirroring the amusement. “Your nephew’s named after a friendly kid ghost.”
“I’m sure there’s worse things to be named after.” He shrugged, forcing himself to look away from her giggling. “Anyway, he’s going to be cute, so his name doesn’t matter.”
“Any child of Susan’s will be cute.”
Caspian heard this last bit and frowned, “Susan and Caspian's.”
Peter heard this last bit and snorted, “Insecure much?”
“Lilliandil.” Susan spoke, and the Star looked away from the baby and to the Queen. “You’ve been incredible with Rillian ever since you’ve been here. Would you want to be Casper’s godmother?”
Lucy’s face fell, while Lilliandil's eyes grew in surprise.
“Really?”“Yes.” Susan smiled at her joy. “Caspian and I discussed this-”
Caspian's expression made it clear he had no memory of this discussion.
“And we decided that you and Peter would be godparents.”
Peter looked stunned, his jaw dropping.
“I- wh- I’m s- m- g- h-“
His fiancée hit the back of his head, and he cleared his throat, finally managing a, “Me?”“Well, I don’t have any other brothers, do I?” His sister snarked, but she was still smiling. “Yes, you dimwit, you.”
If she didn’t know better, Sanya would’ve said that Peter looked close to tears at that point.
“J- I- well, thank you, Su.”
