Kara strolled through the garden that was so familiar to her, her long white dress flowing with the wind. she brushed her hand along the plants as she passed them, gaining a sense of calmness.

as she walked she felt two hands trail down her arms, his hands. she smiled to herself before turning to face him.

his hands immediately went to her waist as she used hers to cup his the sides of his face. they both smiled before she closed the gap between them, giving him a loving kiss.

as they pulled away he pulled her into his arms, and she rested her head against his chest as he swayed them from side to side.

"did anyone see you?" she asked quietly, knowing they would both be in serious trouble if someone did.

they had to be more careful these days. Mon-El was the prince of Krypton's sister world, and was close to becoming the king, so you can bet that people would recognize him.

and Kara was the daughter of the high council leader, and one of the world's renowned scientists, so she was well recognized among her people.

"i don't think so." he replied softly before planting a kiss on the top of her head.

the days in which they saw each other had begun to increase. as they were both sixteen and being trained to one day lead their worlds, they had less and less time to be normal kids.

"i missed you. i'm happy you're here." she told him as she looked up to meet his eyes.

"i missed you too my princess, but i can't stay for too long. my parents need me back at the palace later for a court training." he said sadly

she sighed as she heard his words. she was disappointed. she wanted more time with him.

"hey." he said trying to brighten her mood. "it's not later yet. let's do something."

she nodded at him, smiling, before intertwining her fingers with his.

he brought them to a clearing on the outskirts of the city, and he sat against a tree, bringing Kara to sit between his legs with her back against him.

she sighed in contentment as she leaned against him, looking up at the sky.

they talked for what seemed like hours, but in reality it was only minutes.

she admired him as he talked about all the things he was learning from his parents as well as the things he wanted to do when he became king.

he was nothing like the rest of his people. he had such a kind heart, and that's what she loved about him.

he caught her gaze toward him and stopped speaking to look down at her.

"what?" he asked with a chuckle.

"nothing. you're just- you're going to make a great king one day." she said.

"well thank you. i hope that one day you'll be able to be my queen." he responded.

she smiled up at him, lifting one of her hands to stroke his cheek. she hoped to be his queen one day too, but not just the queen of Daxam, but also of Krypton. they wanted to unite their planets, and rule together.

the time had come for Mon-El to return home, so he and Kara walked towards the small cruiser that he had always parked in the same place.

as they reached the small ship, he turned to face her, their fingers interlaced.

"i guess this is where we must part." he sighed
