Forever and Always

it had been a long week for the star-crossed lovers. Mon-El had gone through the worst week of grooming to be king than ever before.

Kara on the other hand was deeply saddened by the news she had received at the dinner with the high council.

she didn't know how to Mon-El. he would be heartbroken. she was already heartbroken.

"Mon-El. the high council on Krypton has invited us to a gala they are hosting with us and all of our sister worlds." his mother told him as she entered his room.

he perked up at his mother's words.

"wait, when?" he asked trying to hide his excitement.

"tomorrow night. so try and put up a good act for the Kryptonians." the queen told him as she exited the room.

he smiled as she left the room. these events were the only times where he and Kara could interact without having to hide. to say he was excited would be a huge understatement.

"now Kara. tonight is our chance to prove our world to our sister planets. so please, be good tonight." Kara's mother told her as she looked at her daughter through the mirror they stood in front of.

Kara nodded, looking to meet her mother's eyes through the mirror.

"of course mother."

her mother left the room short after, and Kara looked back into the mirror.

her long blue dress with a flower crown made with white flowers was what she would always wear to these types of events.

the crown represented elegance and kindness to the high council, so it was very important to her and her family.

she looked back into the mirror one last time. the girl that looked back at her was heartbroken, and was dreading tonight, and there was only one reason why.

as the royal family walked into the gala, they were greeted by members of the high council, Alura, being in front.

"welcome, the royal family of Daxam. we hope you enjoy tonight and the chance to interact with the people of our sister worlds." Alura said to them as the other members stood solemnly behind her.

"why thank you Alura. it is lovely to be here." Queen Rhea replied, hiding the hatred in her voice.

after the tense and somewhat awkward introduction, Mon-El set to look for his Kryptonian princess.

he eventually spotted her talking to some other boys their age from some of the other planets. she laughed at something one of them had said to her, and felt a spike of jealousy in his chest.

despite the jealousy he felt, he couldn't help but watch in awe of her. she had such a big heart and the greatest capacity for love he had ever seen.

he had never felt this way with anybody the way he felt with Kara. a smile crept onto his face as she spotted him, kindly dismissing the boys she was talking to.

she walked toward him casually, smiling as she finally reached where he stood.

"hi." she said as joy made its way into her voice.
