when Kara was little she always thought about what her life would be like when she was older. she would plan out what job she had, what her wedding would look like, what house she would live in, and all of the stuff you can't wait to do when you're a kid.

but now, as her future grew closer, she wished she could be a little kid again.

the truth was, she was scared. she wanted to help people, and being on the high council would give her the chance to do that, but she didn't know how to lead it.

not only this but she was supposed to be married? she didn't want that either, well she did, but not with this boy she knows nothing about. she wanted it with Mon-El, her prince, her knight and shining armor, but now, she was scared she wouldn't even get to have that.

she looked down at the bracelet on her wrist, the ones Kryptonians would wear when they are engaged or married. she shed a tear looking down at it.

she took it off, deciding to only wear it when her parents were around or if she was out in public.

she went to lay in the center of her bed, holding Mon-El's locket close to her heart. she closed her eyes, and said a silent prayer to Rao, hoping that things may go her way soon.

he was in the ring sparring with some of the guards. he joined their training whenever he needed to blow off some steam.

he was strong. it didn't take much effort to bring down a guard, and these were some of the most highly trained people on his planet.

he was a fighter, a good one. i guess it happens when you have all this anger built up inside.

he wasn't sure what he was angry at exactly. of course there were some things he didn't like- Kara's marriage with Han-Al, or the fact that their love was forbidden. but those things didn't make him angry, they made him sad.

so what was he mad at? maybe it was himself. mad at himself for not being able to stop the wedding. mad at himself for upsetting his parents constantly. he was just mad.

he landed the cruiser in the same place he always did, stepping out and starting his venture, not to the garden, but to her house.

she had no idea he was coming. he wasn't supposed to be there. but he was mad, and she was the only person that could keep him sane.

he walked into her yard, trying to make as little noise as possible. before he could gather small pebbles to toss up to her window, he could hear the voices of the Zor-El family from the front of the house. they were leaving.

although he wished to see his Kryptonian princess sooner, them being gone have him the chance to surprise her.

he snuck in through the back door, not running the risk of being seen by any neighbors or the family themselves by going through the front.

he climbed up the stairs of the house and down the hall to Kara's room. he had only been in there a couple times when Kara's parents were out overnight.

however, the view of Argo City from Kara's window never failed to take his breath away. they didn't have views like this back on Daxam.

although he felt guilty for feeling this way, as he loved his parents most of the time, he sometimes wished he had grown up on Krypton instead of Daxam. this world seemed so peaceful and full of joy, and his, well his seemed unorganized, and stressful.

his thoughts were interrupted when he heard the sounds of arguing downstairs, a sound that was familiar in his own household.

he quickly moved away from the window and hid against the wall next to her door.
