it felt like a nightmare. one minute she was having a good time with loved ones, then the next she's being told that her planet was dying.

it all happened so fast. she had gathered small belongings that were important to her, and then she was being escorted to the launch track by her parents.

she had still not comprehended what was happening. she was about to lose everything.

it was a quick and heartbreaking goodbye to her parents before she was shoved into a pod to follow her cousin to a place she never thought she'd see. earth.

she was terrified beyond belief. she was losing her world, her parents, her family, her prince. and now, she was going to a planet where she would have powers?

there she sat, in the pod, tears streaming down her face, as she looked from side to side, seeing the planet she calls home crumble down around her.

she leaned back in her seat and squeezed her eyes shut, clenching both the necklace her mother had given her along with her locket for Mon-El. Rao, she was going to miss him. the thought of him being gone along with her world left her heartbroken.

she wished she could do more. she wished she had more time. she wanted to help him, help her people.

she tried to drown out the thoughts and sounds that made their way into her head.

then it happened. just like a balloon pops, it happened so fast. the planet finally bursting underneath her.

the wave of the blast sent her pod flying. she didn't know where she was, but all she felt was sleep pulling her in. she closed her eyes for what would be the last time for a long time. she just didn't know it.

he landed the cruiser faster than usual and made his way into the palace before his parents could catch him.

he slipped into his bedroom, managing to make it past guards without being caught.

he hopped into his bed and closed his eyes, trying to get last minute sleep before his parents come in and drag him into the day.

just as he was dozing off, the walls around him began to shake violently.

his eyes opened suddenly and he jerked his body into sitting up.

he looked to his left and saw a lot of dust and rocks falling outside his window.

before he could comprehend what was happening his parents burst into the room with scared looks on their faces.

"mother, father, what's happening?" he asked with pure confusion.

"Mon-El, we don't have much time. we have to get you out of here." his mother replied frantically.

"what? why?"

"Mon-El, i need you to listen to me... Krypton is about to explode, and it is going to destroy Daxam along with it."

no no no no no no. Kara.

he couldn't say anything. what was he supposed to say? the girl he loved was on a planet that was about to explode. and he would be next.

he had to get her out of there. he couldn't lose her. he wanted forever with her.

he shook his head in disbelief. tears pooled in his eyes. he tried to hold them back, but even as strong as he was, he wasn't strong enough for that.

"we have to help them. we have to get them off the planet." he said with a shaky breath.

his mother shook her head. "we can't Mon-El. they had this coming. besides, there's no time." she said coldly.
