Chapter Three:
Hopeless

Anna

I put on some random clothes and looked in the mirror. My braids were okay I guess. But that's not what it was worried about. It was going to school that worried me. How can I face Hans and all his friends after last night?

Punzie and Mer (as I call them) are gonna wanna know exactly what happened. They're my friends, who cares if they know? I do mind if the whole school knows.

Anyways, Punzie and Mer are my two best friends at school. Rapunzel has long blonde hair that flows on her entire back. Her fathers the mayor, so she goes all out with parties and clothes. She's not spoiled, though. She actually pretty nice.

Merida is a curly haired girl who always speaks her mind. She's from Scotland, so she's got this awesome accent that everyone loved to hear.

And me? I'm gonna be the one who threw up over Hans. No one's ever gonna want to go on a date with me again.

I grabbed my backpack and took a sandwich from the fridge. I ran outside, eating my sandwich and waited for my bus.

Jack

I woke up suddenly after hearing a car engine. I looked up from the boxes I was hiding behind to see a car coming into the garage. I stood as still as possible, but I was so nervous that there were snowflakes flowing from behind the boxes.

The owner of the house got out of the car, noticed the snowflakes, and walked over. I could hear his footsteps getting closer.

"Snow?" He wondered aloud, and stepped over to look behind the boxes.

He looked over, and I shot up, sending ice everywhere. I flew up and out of the open garage before he could see my face. Unfortunately, I dropped my Cheetos and all the other snacks that were in my jacket.

"Thief!" The man shouted out, but I was long gone. I'm sure that the police station would have noticed that I escaped by now. There'll probably be pictures or news reports.

I have to find one house where I can stay for good.

Anna

The school bus dropped me off at the front of the school. I was so nervous. What would they think of me? I'm gonna be known as a freak forever.

I stepped in casually through the front door. No one really noticed me, or they didn't care. I hurried along to my locker to leave my math textbook. Suddenly, my locker closed, and my heart stopped beating for a bit, thinking it was Hans. But I looked up and saw Punzie and Mer.

"Into the bathroom. Now!" Punzie ordered, and they dragged my into the girls bathroom. Us coming in was the other girls' cue to leave.

"What happened last night?!" Punzie asked.

"Nothing. My stomach just felt bad, that's all." I hugged myself with arms.

"So, it really happened?" Mer asked. "You threw up all over Hans Anderson?"

"Well- yeah." I sighed.

"Anna! You totally just committed suicide on the social hierarchy! You just dropped- a lot!" Punzie exclaimed. She likes to think everyone's on a social hierarchy.

"I know! It was so embarrassing! I should have told him I was allergic to Greasy Joe's!"

"You're allergic to Greasy Joe's and you didn't tell him?!" Mer complained.

The bell rang just as she finished her sentence. "I've gotta get to literature," Punzie said sadly. "But we're discussing this later!"

"Alright." I replied, hurrying over to my science class.

Jack

After flying around, breaking in to people's houses, and hoarding snacks, I was nothing but exhausted. I was tired of having to hide all the time. I just wanted one place to stay without having to be hidden from plain sight. It just made me feel like I was invisible.

But I couldn't exactly go up to every house and ask if I could stay. If I'm lucky enough, there won't be any news reports on my escape. Arendelle's a small town, there's not much big news around here.

I dove down to one house that seemed to be okay. But I couldn't break in because there was a car in the driveway. I sighed and flew back up. Being an escaped refugee is nowhere near easy.

Anna

Finally, after two long boring classes, lunch came around. I nervously sat in our usual table, hoping to not be seen by Hans or his friends. Punzie and Mer came to the table together, since they both had World History together.

"Okay. So you have to tell us every detail of the story, okay?" Punzie asked.

"Okay." I mumbled.

Flynn came over and hugged Punzie from behind. "Hey," he said, and kissed her cheek. Mer rolled her eyes.

"Hey! We just sat down, wanna sit with us?" Punzie smiled at him.

I couldn't help but roll my eyes too. How come she gets all the boys?

"Sur-" Flynn began, but then he noticed I was sitting with them and he stopped. "Uh, I actually promised I'd sit with Kristoff and his friends... Sorry."

Are you kidding me? Even Flynn? I can't believe I liked him last week!

"It's okay. Maybe some other time." He hugged her again and left the table.

"Wow. Even Flynn doesn't want to sit with us because of me." I grumble.

"It's not because of you, Anna. He said he was siting with Kristoff." Punzie assured, eating her salad.

"Of course it is!" Mer responds with pizza in her mouth. "You just don't notice because you're sooooo in love with Flynn Rider."

"Shut up, Merida!" Punzie nudged her. "I might like Flynn, but at least I'm not stalking Hiccup!"

"I'm not stalking him!" Merida shouted. "It doesn't matter anyways. He's with Astrid."

"Guys, can you stop fighting and help me?" I exclaimed. "I'll never get a boyfriend if you don't help me fix this issue!"

Punzie sighed. "Fine. What I suggest is that you talk to Hans in private and apologize for you... You know. Tell him you were allergic to the food there. He'll understand. Hans may have posted your date last night, but he's a good guy. I know because I dated him last year, but that's not the point."

"Alright. Thanks Punzie. And wait, you dated Hans last year?" I asked. "I didn't know!"

"It was nothing, just one date. I don't know, he seemed too nice." She replied.

Merida finished eating her pizza. "It doesn't matter, Anna. This'll just blow over, it's nothing to worry about. No one really cares that much, anyways."

I nodded, hoping she was right.
