Chapter 12

No one's pov

In the Wayne Residence

Alfred grabbed the mail and headed inside looking for non useless mail and threw the rest away. He looked through the non useless pile and found the ones for Bruce and decided to give them to him since he was home right now. So he entered his office.

"Master Bruce, your mail".

" thank you Alfred ".

He grabbed the letters and looked through them until a certain one caught his eye. It had a Chinese stamp on it with cursive writing on the front.

To: Bruce Wayne
From: Sabine Cheng

Please read Bruce. I hope you still remember me after ten years. This is important

Bruce decided to open the letter and read it.

Dear Bruce

I know it's been a long time since you've heard of me. Ten years the most. And, if you don't remember me, well, I hope you remember Marinette. Our daughter. And, if you're reading this, it's because I'm dead and Marinette should be on her way to Gotham.

The day she arrived here in China, she wouldn't stop talking about everyone there. Especially you. She adores you Bruce. And, she has always been asking about you ever since. I want you to take care of her. She's almost fifteen and is in need of a lot of protection. Because of the death of me and my husband, she now has to take her place in the throne. And, if you haven't noticed yet, I was queen of China which makes our Marinette princess. But because of my death, she now has to take her place in the throne as queen. And, I'm not underestimating her or anything. But, she's to young to face this cruel world alone.

She needs you Bruce. And, Alfred. She would also always talk about Alfred. She is not a normal girl and will never be after the traumatic events she's had to witness. Maybe she doesn't know, but I've seen everything that would happen at school. And, I don't know how she does it. But after the way her school treats her, she never gave up hope and kept smiling. So I want you to guard her with all your life. And I don't want you to hurt her.

And, if you got this after her arrival, well, I hope she hasn't seen you yet because if not, you've already ripped the girl's heart. So fix that if that's the case. I also clipped a picture of Marinette right now just in case you don't recognize her.

Bruce's pov

I looked at the image Sabine sent me and it was of a smiling girl with midnight blue hair, bluebell eyes and a small frame. She looked so delicate in the picture. She was in a very lovely gown wearing a tiara. How come I've never heard of this.

I quickly went down to the Batcave and searched up Sabine's name. And millions of results popped up. Her as a child. Her in the palace on her coronation as queen. Her wedding. And much more. And the more recent things were about the so called secret princess that went by the name of Marinette Dupain-Cheng.

That name sounded familiar. She was a Wayne. So it was, Marinette Wayne Cheng.

And that's when it all clicked together. That girl I yelled at a few days ago, it was her. And, how did Sabine and her husband Tom die.

I also searched that up but, there were no results. Apparently, I had to be in China to actually be able to access the information. I searched up the name Marinette Wayne Cheng and I found only attendance results. And they were pretty recent. I located all of this and I ended up in Gotham academy. The same school Damian went to.
