(Jeongin's pov)

"I'm gonna ask out Y/n." Felix blurted from the middle of the lunch table.

I stopped my hand with the spoon mid-way in my mouth. Then I look at the boy.

Why do I feel like I'm against this? I should be supporting my friend but nothing came out of my mouth.

"Y/n?" Minho chuckled. "My sister, Lee Y/n?" He repeated. Felix nodded.

"The Y/n who-"

"He's clearly talking about the same Y/n." Jisung interrupted.

That led Minho to let out a hysterical laugh.

"Yeah good luck with that. If you're able to handle her then props to you." Minho said giving his attention back to his food.

"What do you mean by that?" Chan asks.

"Well you never what can go on in that girl's mind. You can call her...different from other girls, I guess." Minho shrugged.

"I mean the deals she makes with people, her so-called hobby of listening to gossip, and being a teenage matchmaker. You should be glad you didn't agree to that Jeongin." He pointed at me.

I gulped. "What?"

"You never know what could go wrong. I just can't have her get hurt in the process." He said.

Why would she get hurt? Everything's been going great for the both of us.

Jisung sighs, understanding what Minho just said, as he puts a hand on Felix's shoulder, "In other words, you asking out Y/n is a good thing for you and her." Jisung told him.

(third person pov)

Y/n sighed as she puts her textbooks in her locker. "Calculus sucks. Why do I need to learn it, it's not like I'm measuring triangles in my everyday life." She complained.

"Hey Y/n." Felix greeted the girl.

Seeing the bright, freckled boy brought a smile to her face. She knew she needed to see at least someone smile to bring up her mood.

"Hi Felix. What brings you here?" Y/n smiled back. Then she noticed a slight blush tinting the boy's cheeks.

"Well I wanted to ask if you wanted to go out this weekend?" He shyly asks.

Y/n tilt her head. "Like a date?"

He nodded.

Y/n displayed a small smile. "I'm sorry Felix. You're a great guy and all but you're just not my type. I'm sure it took a lot of courage and confidence for asking me but I'm really sorry."

"Uhh y-yeah that's totally fine. How about we have lunch this weekend, as friends? If I can't get a date, I would really like it if we were at least friends."

Y/n chuckled. "Sure. I would love that."

"Perfect. Friend." He playfully nudges the girl before walking away.

"Wow I knew he was so positive but I didn't think he was this positive. Reminder to self, call Felix whenever you're down." She nodded leaving the area as well.

"Okay recap everything that happened today." Y/n said as she takes a bite of her pastry.

The pastry from a bakery she again dragged Jeongin all the way to. When she said she can't eat by herself, she really means it.

"Basically we talked all throughout class. I even felt all the nerves leave my body. I haven't felt this confident when talking to Miyeon since ever." Jeongin exclaimed.

"That's good." She didn't really want to hear this but for the sake of Jeongin she tried...then couldn't so she tried to divert all her attention to the creme filled pastry.

"I don't think I actually thanked you yet. So thank you." He smiled.

Again she blandly nodded. "Yeah no problem."

Jeongin then noticed the lack of her usual enthusiasm in the girl's tone. "Are you okay? Did something happen?" He asks.

"Huh?" She finally brought her eyes to meet his. "No, everything's good. It's just that...this is so good." She pointed to the pastry.

Jeongin chuckled. Then he reaches over for napkins. "Apparently too good."

Jeongin leaned in which made Y/n abruptly move back. "What are you doing?"

"You have something on your face. Let me help you." He held onto her shoulder, pulling her towards him.

Y/n didn't fight back this time. She just allowed him to wipe off whatever was on her face.

As Jeongin was gently wiping her face she tried her hardest to hold her breath. She didn't notice this before but now she could see a twinkle in his eyes.

She told herself she needed to stop looking but her eyes didn't seem to listen.

While one party was taking in his features, the same thing was happening to the other party.

He didn't know why he didn't move away. He had gotten all the creme and powdered sugar off her face but something about her soft lips was drawing him in.

"Did you get it?" She softly asks, breaking them both out of a trance.

He leaned back into his seat. "Um yeah. Got all of it." He said, not looking at the girl this time.

Then a question left the girl's mouth which made Jeongin quickly look back towards her.

"You won't be needing me anymore right?"

"What makes you think that? I totally need you." He said which then realized it might have sounded like something else.

He stammered, "I mean, I need you for more advice. I'm still new at this." Which was also true he told himself.

Y/n lightly chuckled. "You seem to be a natural at it. Trust me, you won't be needing me anymore."

As she said that, there's been only one thought going through her mind.

I need to minus myself from the situation before it gets worse.

"You're doing so great so what else am I needed for? Our deal is done. You got the girl, you should be happy." She said.

There's only one thought going through Jeongin's mind right now.

But I don't know if that girl really makes me happy as much as this girl does.
