Star & Moon caught up with the rest of their group, noticing an empty seat between River & Eclipsa, and an empty seat between Marco & Jackie. They took their respective places with a calm peace of mind. "There she is!" Jackie exclaimed, welcoming Star alongside Marco with a quick hug. "You good?"
Star could immediately feel her face go red with blush. "Y-Yeah, I'm alright. Just excited that we're all here for this." She sheepishly kept trying to hide her blush as long as she could. Fortunately for her, Jackie let go soon enough and returned her attention to Chloe, allowing her to give Marco her own undivided attention.
"You sure you're alright?" He asked her.
"Uh huh. Mom and I...we just hugged things out, that's all."
The boy turned to look at Moon, who was knee-deep in chatting it up with River & Eclipsa. Then he turned back to his girlfriend. "I guess she's still keeping her word that things were gonna be better between you two."
She awkwardly nodded. "Yeah, it's...it's nice." She smiled at her mother, but the smile quickly faded and turned into a rather somber frown as she started looking down at her own feet. Marco carressed her cheek & gently kissed her.
"Hey, if at any time you want to bail, just say the word." He casually explained to her. "I'll take you back to my house & tuck you into bed. And maybe tuck myself in with you if you want."
Marco Diaz, always the gentleman. "Thanks, honey. I'll keep that in mind. But I'm okay for now. Really. I just want to enjoy the game." Despite that, she was suddenly up for teasing up, as she scooched herself slightly closer to him. "Buuuut if you want to tide yourself over until we get home..." She winked at him and darted her eyes downward, signaling exactly what she wanted from him. It didn't take any time for him to get it. "My bubble butt only wants your sweet, gentle hands..."
"Not that I wouldn't love to do that all game, but...I don't think I'd be able to focus on the action."
She was clearly disappointed, but his logic was sound and she couldn't be mad. "Fair enough."
"But do you want to?" He repeated the gesture she just made to him, and she too took no time to get it.
"...You sure?" She asked; he nodded. With a smile, she slowly scooched her hand closer towards him until she was able to get her palm firmly on his rear, squeezing it repeatedly.
"Enjoying it?" This time she nodded; she had a clear gaze of enthrallment on her face. "Good. Have fun."
Meanwhile, on the field, the festivities were about to begin. The Principal of Echo Creek - alongside the mayor, Slime, and Buff Frog - strutted onto the field with a microphone in hand. "Good evening, everyone! Thank you all for joining us for this very special occassion. It is our honor to be hosting the first ever exhibition match for the newly rebranded Cornball!
The opening ceremony was brief, but it introduced the two teams playing for the crowd that night. One was Katrina's team - which now also had a few Earth human players as well as a mix of monsters & mewmans - and the other team was the newly formed Echo Creek Academy Cornball team, which turned out to just be the regular football team who agreed to partake in this match in exchange for extra credit. There was also a very special statue unveiling. Yes, the "statue" that Marco had previously tried to lobby City Hall to build in Star's honor - and then Star tried lobbying to be built in Marco's honor - was instead built in the shape of Wallace J. Cornelius, the first ever Cornball player inducted into Mewni's Cornball Hall of Fame. It seemed like a nice compromise on the matter without hurting either Star or Marco's feelings.
