Chapter 3

The next morning, Hermione woke up early and searching for her books that she still have from her parents. She always loved to read because reading make her calmed her emotions but she still trapped of feeling grief towards her parents. Beauty and the beast was her favorite fairytale story that her mother always shared at her when she still alive. But now, Hermione have to stand up for herself without her parents by her side. Little did she know that Tom was already woke up without noise and observed her from his bed. The fact that the little bushy hair girl was annoyed him to the end.Tom still frustrated that he have to share his room room with her. Tom always known as a quiet child even since he is an infant. He always obsessive towards his things and and sharing is not one of them. He loved to harm people without them noticing since he knew that he was special amongst the other child. He can do what people can't do. He loves his power towards people, things and also the animals. He is a magical baby with the dark power ever born in this world. He smirks a little when he thought a thousand ways to tortured the bushy hair girl. He was curious either the girl was strong enough to hold his power or she just like the other child that he always thought is weak. Oh how amusing that he can't wait to test her started from today. Although she still pretended that she was alone in that room,but she knew that Tom always there with her. She felt like she was watched behind her back but when she turned around to face Tom,that boy never took a glance towards her. Recently,she felt weird with herself.... But she like the weirdness about herself because she believes that it is a magic.... Since she lived at the orphanage,she started to do the weird things without expected it to happen. One time she was in the room alone despite that Tom forced to clean any garbages around the orphanage outside,she just sat alone in the room with a peaceful day. She tried to reach an old manuscript that she found out in their closet while cleaning the room like Mrs Cole said to her. She was too annoyed with her short legs and she can't even reach that book. Suddenly, the manuscript was fly away and knocked out her head. At the first,she groaned because of the pain but then she stunned that the manuscript was still flying on her head. "H..How can a book flying in the room?!" Hermione shrieked loudly. She threw her hands to the air and the manuscript dropped onto both of her hands. "Wicked"‚ she amazed and grinned widely at the same time. Since that day,she know that she's different from the other child. But of course Tom noticed all the things that she did that day because he can feel the another magic surrounded their room. He thought that it was his magic but at the second thought,he knew that someone has a magic other than him. He never missed his plan to disturb Hermione and continue to observed her without she noticed him. He curiously want to know what books that Hermione always read every day. So he tried to sneaked up a little.... One evening, Hermione looked out for her father's book when she found out it was missing. She stared at Tom who was calm reading his book at his bed. She walked closer ti him and asked",Tom... Did you see the thick book named 'Encyclopedia of Biology'?" Tom slowly lowered his book and face Hermione with a cold eyes. "Why did I bother with your books, Granger?" He raised his eyesbrow sternly. Hermione didn't liked that tone. She stared at him with a long time and decided to speaked carefully at him. "Because there's nobody here but you and I, isn't it?" Asked Hermione strongly. "You're the one who clumsy with your things," Tom stand up and walk into the door before she suspected something wrong. Although she might clumsy little bint,she also perspective to her things. She was the first girl that wasn't easy to manipulated by him. "At least some people know how to be honest if they want to borrow something from someone,not run away from them because they know they stole something,"another words from Hermione and Tom started to feel challenge by this girl. "Before you accuse people without prove,why don't you started not to be clumsy little girl, Granger",Tom replied with a sharp tone. Hermione still glared at his back when he away from their room. Day after day, she started to think that Tom not just a quiet boy but he is also a sneaky thief! Everytime she observed a little about him, there's are no secret between them... If he knew something from her,then she also knew something from him. Not that they shared secrets with each other but either one of them can't hide from each other because they shared one room and one life in orphanage. Another thing that Hermione don't like about Tom was altitude. After a couple years lived with him, she caught him many times stealing the toys and kept them in his trunk. When Hermione being Hermione, she always scolded him around but got sarcasm and snarky words from him back. They always argued with opposite things every day. One day, while Hermione was still sleeping on her bed, she heard an argument from the door. At first the talks was just a whisper but slowly it becomes a heated conversation. It was distracted her so she got up from the bed and eardropping behind the door. " Deep down,you you deserve to be punished, don't you Mr.Riddle?"asked Mrs. Cole with a cold tone. She just received a silent answer from that boy. "I knew from the moment I saw you out from your mother's womb, you are worthless human being. And here I thought maybe you just forget your place,hmm?" From that tone, Hermione know there was something wrong has happened while she was asleep,so she decided to know it... "Come to my office...Now!" Her sharp tone was gone with the toodler she supposed to punish in her office. Then, Hermione realised that Tom was not in his bed right now. Hermione worried that the child that Mrs. Cole wanted to punish was Tom. She knew that Tom always got himself a trouble in their daily life. "Serve him right for killed your precious pet, Dudley. What a brilliant revenge!"said Dudley's friend. "Let him take his own medicine,Freddy. I hated that brat. No worry!I knew that Mrs. Cole will whipped him until he's got bleeding over badly. I always saw him out from that room with bruised all over his face, it's scary...you know",said Dudley. When they got carried away from the conversation, Hermione grasped in shock after heard Dudley's explanation to his friends. Although she may annoyed with Tom, but she always pity him whenever she saw got bullied by the children in front of Mrs. Cole. The woman never scolded the other and ignored Tom when he got bullied by the others. Hermione knew it was unfair because she also have no defender whenever she being bullied in the orphanage. The two of them have the same fate. 'Being hated by the people around them'. She and Tom were the looner. All they have are books in their hands. In fact,she know a lot about Tom. Intelligent,quiet and annoying. Determine to go to Mrs. Cole's office, she constantly glancing around her shoulder to make sure people doesn't suspected her up to something in Mrs. Cole's office. She brought the chair to climbed the window of the office and tried to opened up the window with her two hands. She slowly opened the window and sneaked in behind the curtains that covered her body. From the curtain,she peeked off and saw Tom lying in the floor with bruises all over his body. His lips bleeding and his face has bruises. Hermione looked around and found out Mrs. Cole not in her office anymore. She quickly went to him and slung his left arm in her shoulder. She helped him got up to their room quietly without people noticed. Tom was barely conscious and leaning heavily on her body. She put him in his bed and closed the door quietly. Hermione took a towel soaked to treat the wounds on Tom's scratched body. "What are you doing?" His voice was hoarse and he still feel the pain all across his body. He wake up when something wet touched body. "I'm healing you",said Hermione without looking at his face. He said no words and let her doing the healing in his body. Never in million  thought that the bossy swot would healed his wounds gently. Hermione expect that he will lashed out at her face but she surprised that he let her treating him. From that day, their routine were changed forever.
