Adrianna's pov
Two days had gone by, nothing changed. He followed his routine and I used to just sit and eat and stare at the wall. Boring was an understatement. The only interesting thing was when he used to do pull ups or any form of exercise. It was hot, his bare upper half glowing with a thin layer of sweat, the way his muscles flexed with every move, his abs along with the defined v on his waist and his tattoos where just fuck.. no stop! I can't be thinking like this, it's wrong.
The sound of a trolly snapped me out of my dirty thought. His food was here, god I hated the way the man used to throw his food. He was just about to throw the plate again. I snapped. "Okay that's it, Mr John" I say walking towards him reading his name tag. "From today I will be giving him food, you just leave the plate on my table alright ?" I say with a false smile. "Sure officer" he said in an disinterested tone before handing me the plate and walking away.
I sigh and hold the plate before walking towards the cell, Xavier's eyes never leaving me. I knew he heard the whole thing, but didn't show any emotion on his face. Bending down I careful slide the plate into the cell. "Thank you" he said in a husky voice before taking the plate.
Our fingers brushed over each other and I grasped. But quickly pulled away. Turning around I sat down, keeping my head low trying to avoid looking into the cell because I knew my face was flushed. His hand was so warm, like a cozy blanket on a snowy morning.
I knew I had a weakness for him, he was so intense but also clam at the same time. Like two sides of a coin. I just had to control myself because like everyone he would be gone in a few months and I didn't see a future after that.
Looking back into the cell he had finished his food, and again looked back at me with those enchanting eyes. Everything I just thought about was long gone while I started feeling hotter suddenly. Cleaning my throat, I sit up straight on the uncomfortable chair looking anywhere but his cell. This was going to be harder that I thought.
Xavier's pov
Today was the first day I had a proper meal in a long time. Thanks to Adrianna, the man wouldn't be throwing my food any time soon.
I lay on my bed thinking about what she did today, how she kept that fake smile on, so she didn't seem rude but also did the right thing at the same time. She was a cop but never thought lower about anyone, included a bastard like me. How many people did the same? Most of the people I knew would only show me respect because of the fear and power I had. But she didn't seem to be bothering by it, it didn't matter who I was she would show respect to someone anyway.
When her hand touched mine it was like a cool ice cube calming all the rage I had in me. Years of doing the wrong things, protecting my family and keeping the mafia on top. But now being alone and locked up made me think something was missing. Looking out the cell I see her sleeping on the table like a baby. My lips curled up forming a small smile. Her light. Thats what I had been messing out on, till now.
An hour passed but she was still asleep, while I watched her. It was peaceful, I was lost in the moment no thinking about the Russians, not thinking about anything. Just her. It was strange. Moments later the night officers came towards the cell. He saw her and was about to wake her up, I just glared at him enough for him to get the message. He raised his hands up and backed away. No one touches her.
Once he was gone I knocked the glass in the cell. The first time she didn't get up, after a couple more times she finally got up with a fright. She looked around the at the cell "What, shit I slept off" she said rubbing the sleep from her eyes. I pointed at the night officer walking towards us. "Oh" she said looking at her watch. Grabbing her stuff she got up and began walking away. Turning around she waved at me with a small smile.
