Rant #1

This is just a rant that's about me. Nothing personal just telling you stuff about my writing habits

So, I have like terrible memory, and what makes it worse is that I get things mixed up too. Like if you, on Thursday, ask me what I had for dinner on Monday I'll probably tell you what I had on Tuesday and full heartedly believe that I told you the correct information, that's off topic but still.
So I'll end up forgetting that I wrote a chapter, and preview that chapter and I'll go "hmm, I wish the author had worded that better, maybe (insert suggestion here)' and then like two sentences later I'll remember that I wrote the chapter and go back and fix it.
And I do that to revise all my chapters

When I do remember that I wrote a chapter I'll think that people are gonna hate it cause it's bad (even though their not supposed to be reading it in the first place), For example:
In m (insert name) chapter I'll be rereading it and I'll think about how much people are going to dislike it. And my positive side will be like 'at least it's better than some other fanfics, with okay grammar, and at least it's not some basic cheerleader and football player" but then I'll also think "that's really mean to those other fanfics, though" but my pessimistic thoughts are like "there are also way better fanfics that they could be reading, with actual covers that aren't screenshots from a fish game"
And then people actually read the chapters, and I'm like, 'meh it's their fault for clicking'

Anyways (insert anyways isn't a word meme)
Since your here, time to tell you what I absolutely despise in stories, the 'I don't care if the grammar is bad because writing is hard'
Like you don't have to write like a professional but if your fanfics look like this

You might wanna put a little more effort into it
I understand that writing is hard but if you want a medium quality chapter (okay spelling, okay punctuation) you're gonna put forth the effort to make that. And if you don't want a quality work, that's okay too, but if that's true then you aren't allowed to use that excuse.
I don't hate the story because there's bad grammar and incoherent spellings, I hate that you didn't put forth the work to make a quality chapter like you wanted to.

You know what I hate even more than that? WHEN READERS GRILL AUTHORS ALIVE FOR MISSPELLINGS AND BAD GRAMMAR When You Can Clearly See That They Are Trying Hard. ESPECIALLY WHEN THE AUTHORS HAVE APOLOGIZED IN THE BEGINNING AND SAID THAT ENGLISH ISN'T THEIR NATIVE LANGUAGE, I've Seen It Before, It's Absolutely Brutal. I learn a foreign language, and I've written sentences in those languages, trying my best mind you, only to be told it looks terrible and to be put down by native speakers, it doesn't feel good.

On the upside there was a great story that I read, amazing grammar and almost no spelling errors, and the author fesses up that English isn't their native language. Everybody in the comments was like 'are you sure, your English is better than mine', the author was super humble about it too. Sadly I can't remember what story it was and my tastes fluctuate too much to find it.
Anyways thanks for coming to my TEDTalk
